if you think "Samurai is hard..." or "Samurai Skill ceiling is high" you are TOTALLY WRONG, and I know what im talking about.
if you think "Samurai is hard..." or "Samurai Skill ceiling is high" you are TOTALLY WRONG, and I know what im talking about.
what did make the jobs harder? no please enlight me because you act like you hold all the knowledge...Lmao, what? I'm not rude at all, you're simply talking about things you don't understand. Talking about the skill ceiling of a job you're still leveling or only doing dungeons/story content with is plain ignorant - performing well in content like that is an entirely different kettle of fish in comparison to Savage/extreme primals. Now if you had said that Monk is pretty easy to pick up and do ok with, I'd agree, but you didn't.
62 the trait for the chakra, passive capacity allowing more use of the chakra skill.... not harder, in a sense simpler since we don't need to use the skill anymore for gather chakra (well still use it in downtime)
64 riddle of earth, a tank buff, yes it allows to regain grease lightning, but you need to get hit, what in raid don't happend often as dps. generally you take one hit and is over, i will not debat about the fact that scholar shield seems to prevent to make it work. it's mostly a skill for solo in it form. and like said, it's a tank buff, our role is dps, not take damage, if we take damage we did something really bad or the tank is either dead or bad.
66 shoulder tackle mastery, one of the most hated trait since honestly if you are in fist of earth it push the enemy, in fist of fire it increase the damage, even if from the start it's a skill with a very low potency. and first of allows to use it two time and while havling the damage.
68 riddle of fire, the skill that go against the feature of the monk, we are means to be a fast jobs and we get a buff that slow our weaponskill, making our rotation kinda weird for a few second. but it's not hard, since it's like we have no grease lightning.
70 brotherhood, the skill that was added only for give utility because raider community did said that monk need one for be interesting to be taken in raid. but at the same time they did added the samurai that have the same function that had the monk before and i will talk of the 15 yalms area of effect nor the fact that if you don't have a lot of melee dps it's a joke it will not bring a lot of dps to the raid, meaning it's a utility barely matching what dragoon or ninja have to bring.
and it's part of this subject that is, what is the worst dps to play, not the dps that have the worst dps, but the one that is worst to play... for me monk have the worst gameplay now, since it didn't evolve, the gameplay is brainless and don't ask a huge skill ceiling outside be able to position yourself for your combo... what every melee need to do. and most of his kit are situational if not useless skill keep for no reason outside that while the rework they had no idea what to bring up. SB show it too... why add a tank buff for upgrade our capacity to solo, when it was better to add a new series of skill that don't recquire to be in front of be usefull. why keep the fist when honestly 80% of our time will be spend in fist of fire.
it's a lot of question that deserve to be adressed, the fact that i'm not 70 don't means i don't know the jobs... maybe it's because i know well the jobs that i haven't feel to level up it to 70 when all the other jobs have get soo many new skill and gameplay experience...
... I literally explained why it's harder to play, are you trolling?
RoE has several really good applications in Rabanastre, Susano and Shin Ex as well as Deltascape, particularly O2(S) and O4(S); you do realize that we have a lot, like a whole lot, of unavoidable raid-wide damage in this game, right?
RoF does slow down the GCD, which is why you have to optimize OGCDs, making it slightly harder to use than BfB.
Brotherhood, as I already explained, needs you as a player to really know each fight so as to not waste uptime for anyone (usually the Monk, the Tanks & 2 other physical DPS) who benefits from it.
The rest of your post is once again completely off-topic. This thread isn't about the best and worst designed jobs, it's about challenge and demand; things you can't really comprehend, sorry. Obviously doing your rotation and hitting positionals is "brainless" when all you do is brainless content.
I'm honestly done talking to you, might as well try and talk against the wall.
I've only currently gotten Monk to level 70 and this is what ive been mainly playing.
Monk hasnt really changed much from heavensward,We lost a dot and got riddle of fire to replace our cross class dragons blood we used.Riddle of earth is extremly situational useage,Riddle of Wind might aswell not even exist to be be honest.Brotherhood is a great utility buff for dps.Keep in mind also that Mantra is now longer cross class skill so it's a bigger utility bonus than it used to be.
Monk dps can be great but we still suffer in some content where its not possible to keep up GL,This makes us overall weaker than other melee classes in those cases.
Monk can also struggle with positionals depending on the fights. We have true north now but the cd is so long it doesnt help much.
Ps Tornado kick is still completly useless.
using utility (nin) is often on the cost of dps.., see it when I manashift as blm or rez as smnif you think "Samurai is hard..." or "Samurai Skill ceiling is high" you are TOTALLY WRONG, and I know what im talking about.
dont see sam having to worry about such.., using utility doesnt make the blm or smn much harder, but it still costs dps everytime (even if casters probably lose more dps than others when using utility)

casters:
most difficult "rota": smn > blm =/> rdm (mastering the rota general & in 4-man raids)
most challenging for savage and real endraids: blm >>> (any dps, ..blm feels a bit broken for prog) smn > rdm
most wanted in endraids: rdm = smn >>> blm
if its pure/ early prog, then maybe rdm > smn, .. if its late prog or farm than probably smn > rdm
but casters are atm not in the "meta" and mostly only get 1 out 4 dps spots, if at all thanx to rez (smn & rdm) atm.. but smn does decent dps too
melee usually get 2/4 spots
and ranged get 1-2/4, meta then actually 2/4
smn rota is one of the most complex (one of the highest skill ceiling "rota" of all dps) especially with the pet obey, which can be a pain (Q-ing the pet commands)
+ not enough ps4 buttons for fluid pet obey control
rdm rota is imo not "fluid" and not my taste, but easy/ fast to get into + as smn very mobile in endraids
blm "rota" is easy too, but has always been very hard / probably most difficult in "endraids" (atm least wanted dps of all dps in progression)

Research would answer the question for you, not individual opinions.
Your best bet is the check out gameplay videos (in relevant content) of the classes that take your fancy. If they visually appeal to you, unlock it and give it a spin to see if you gel with it yourself. At the end of the day, "Challenge" is relative. Some would struggle with priority systems, others may struggle with extensive rotations. Some may prefer ranged, some prefer melee, some have bad computers where latency is a thing, others are on 20ms/60FPS and want phat explosions. I've no time or interest reading personal opinions on what X or Y individual found 'challenging', seeing as their strife may not apply to me when I get my hands on the class in question. Nothing contests hands-on experience, so hop to it.
Desirable classes, however, are a far less convoluted affair. Anything capable of a) pumping out respectable deeps and/or b) pumping out party-buffs (preferably a combination of the two) will always be welcomed over greedy classes, though sometimes greed is accepted when bases are covered by a group and said greedy-class is top-dps capable.
Until two days ago (as a Healer main and 2xTank off-player), MNK was the only DPS I had given any time (ie. gotten to max-level). That changed when I randomly decided to level that filthy BRD I had at 40 for the last few months. With some basic research (and <320 gear) I'm already reaching 3.7k ST - which isn't great, but a solid start for a newbie - and your mere presence during this is providing crit to the group. Dispel, MP/TP refreshers, bonus-healing buff, DirectHit buff, DamageTakenDebuff (and more) is on the table for those who really want to push it to the limit. MNK has a moderate rotation whereas BRD is pretty much a priority-lottery. Have found it a lot of fun thus far and can see how you really need to be on-point when pushing for competitive deeps (with the blessing of RNGeezus). Even on my worst day, it's nice to know that you're capable of providing something else to compensate, whereas my MNK (even with Brotherhood) won't be making friends if it's doing equivalent DPS and only capable of providing one group buff.
Anyway, you get the idea.
BLM is the most challenging DPS job so far been a while. On top of being a job not many people play, the first challenge for a new BLM player to overcome is find a party thay will let them play to begin with.
