Agreed. But pre-mirage dive I would weave jump/spineshatter depending on which one I did first and my muscle memory from even 2.0 I still weave one and miss the mirage dive and overwrite the Dive Ready status with another Dive Ready. So by immediate I was more referring to me overwriting.

Samurai is the easiest job in this game. (its not a random answer, I know it very well, logs)

At high level, i mean, if you want to play at 95%+ percentile, hardest jobs are maybe:

    Melee; DRG and NIN.
    Rangeds; BLM and MCH.

If you dont care about high performance, all jobs are easy. Jobs turn into something hard when you want to squeeze 110%.

    Actually meta looks like: (demand)
    Melee; NIN+DRG (Best melee comp)
Ranged; SMN+BRD/MCH (Good comp for prog) or BRD + MCH (good comp for speed kills)

I would say mch. It is really strong job, really good damage utility and damage reduction utility, but it is still least played job in savage content. I think reason behind that is because it is lot harder play than other jobs. SMN was least played job before, but after they get damage buff, popularity raised lot so I guess it was just weak before and thats why ppl did not wanted play it before.

Most desired dps jobs: BRD, DRG, NIN, MCH.
I can't speak for DRG and NIN since I don't play them.

MCH and BRD are almost equal in terms of dps if played very well. However, a poorly played MCH does more dps than a poorly played BRD.

    Example to compare their dps:
    O4S normal kill:

    - MCH dps: 4,376
    - BRD dps: 4,224

    O4S speed kill:
    - MCH dps: 5,097
    - BRD dps: 4,897

Whoever has RNG on their side will do better.
You can see from the numbers that their dps is fairly close, with 100-200 difference due to RNG.

Yeah, proc are important. In MCH for ex, when I'm trying the O4S dummy, I've done it one time 30s remaining and the other times that was around 20s, just because I've a good RNG.

My answer about the OP's question is: most challenging and wanted is different a lot. NIN is not particulary hard except for timing TA, but is surely the most wanted job because of that. MCH is way the hardest dps imo, in all point, but because he had Hypercharge, it is at the same levelo of the NIN for "wanted job".

NIN is not really hard in term of rotation... Neither the MNK. I even would said DRG > MNK in difficulty of rotation.
SAM is not really hard too. I was maining SAM since the beginning, I don't see where is the complexity, and I was like... 5k on Shinryu with PUG. And I still don't understand those who have difficulties on it, really.

I feel BRD, MCH and DRG harder. The first because we need to manage: dot, buff, team utilities and song.
And the two others because need to calculate the good time for burst, since it during a long time, not easy to get and if the boss flies away...

drg is imo the easiest melee to play

nin has a lot to look out for too, besides the "core" rotation..

shinryu doesnt have postionals, so its not a good comparison for melee..
... personally dont find sam that difficult either, but maxing it isnt that easy compared to other melee (still do a lot of damage when playing average, but sometimes also due to getting all the raid buffs)

Summon and machinist for this. 100%. Probably machinist over summon too. Because less competition for the one spot. And there just appears to be far fewer ranged dps players than casters. Bard is also a sought after job and is quite strong with its party utility, but machinist is much more challenging than bard at the moment.

For melee, I'd definitely say Ninja is the most sought after job. Even though it's been (arguably) the best melee job for raid since its release, ninjas are still fairly hard to come by. And it does have some difficulty to it with its different timing windows and with proper usage of its utility.

BLM is "tough" for all the wrong reasons and I would not recommend playing it in endgame content until this issue is resolved.
