It makes me wonder... Would Bards be able to solo fine or would they have a hard time with it? Seeing how most of it's abilities look like they're meant for party play.

yeah i agree with the above poster. Its not like we will even have brd buffing available to us until what is currently the last 10-15 levels of exp (depending on how job quests play out,). It's perfectly reasonable to assume that arc can serve as another DD up to that point, and then having brd will just enhance a players motivation to send the invite. I don't think mp/tp regen are really completely necessary for any of the current exp mechanics we've been given, however I can see it helping IMMENSELY with the constant self healing and mp regen required in other aspects of the game (melees/monks against longer battles sacrificing HP/MP/TP for greater damage.)

I am inclined to agree provided that we end up with a scenario where the grind party fights move too quickly for a BRD to really be of use. At that point having an AOE DD spammer to move things along might be more situationally relevant.

That's not to say that keeping an MP refresh or TP regen rolling on the party doesn't contribute to keeping the ball rolling on grind parties either though.

OT: I'm on the fence about the changes regarding Archer still, so I don't really have a lot to discuss. When I started Archer I never envisioned myself becoming a Bard from it. I planned on taking up Bard in the future when it was released, just, not in the way SE is planning. So for now we'll just have to see how it works out when it drops.

Well, ARC is never going to go away, nor will it's role as a ranged DD. it will always have its power, just becoming a BRD means you're a buff whore for endgame content that requires longer than 3 minutes to kill a mob.

The Law of Gathematics state; Gath's 1 gil is always worth more than your one gil even when your 1 gil is in multitudes of 1 gil. Here is an example; You have 10,000,000 gil. Gath has 1 gil. Gath's gil is worth 10,000,001 gil to you. If someone else has 5 mil. gath's gil is worth 5,000,001 to that person. Gath's rates change depending on how much net worth Gath's fan has according to the current time of exchange.

I agree on the stple of BRD. BRD might make for super fast grind parties, but if you can throw an extra DD to kill faster, then go as a DD. Now, for mobs that take longer than 3 min to kill a BRD would be useful hence endgame as long as mobs can live longer than 3 minutes.

That's the sad part, they get blinded by the fact there are Jobs and don't look at the fact that the classes are better than the jobs in certain situations. I see the classes for a more casual role like for grinding or short fights, but BRD is going to be endgame, that's that.

The idea that BRD will be more akin to Corsair from XI (minus the awesome flying cards! ) makes me even more inclined to try it out, i'm a PGL at heart, but playing Corsair was one of my fave jobs from XI and I would be happy to fill the role as a buffer with a bit of DD potential again.
