Survey: Community Opinions Regarding Parsing/Parsers in Final Fantasy XIV

This discussion again, players have been begging since ARR launched. Maybe players should just stop with the same old trend with the parsing request and take the hint. No matter how many or often it never is going to happen?

But since Yoshi-P San is never going to just say "we are never doing it period" these topics will just keep on popping up.

It’s not really a request. It’s a survey to just see what people think about parsing and parsers in general.

Aaand I might have picked the wrong survey, although it looks like the options are almost the same between them. Basically for me pro vs con are almost perfectly balanced so I don't really care if we get a parser or not. There will be problems anyway. I have a parser installed on my PC but I use it only when dps checks stop progress.

An example:
Back when Susano was fairly current content we were having a kind of a static to learn the fight. We saw enrage, so our whm demanded that we parse. I set up ACT on my computer and parsed the next "session" which also happened to be a clear. It was a little tight so the whm kept on bashing the dps while comparing the numbers to the 80th percentile despite most of our group lagging behind in gear. Funnily enough, the parser also told us that the whm was doing 100 dps during the fight (80th perc was doing around 1200 at that time iirc) and also took the most damage by quite a good margin (excluding tanks). When I pointed that out, the "criticism" stopped for a while.

So yeah, the parser did show the weak links but it's very easy for some people to be a douche about it.

Not a raider but definitely do not wish to slack on ex trials and normal content be it poetic farming for relics or regular duty roulettes.

this has in a sense has been said, when they announced they won't give us add on support because of parsers/ until they can prevent us from making them with it.

also at the start they originally said the cons out way the pros. even in interviews stated players should look at the team as a whole and try to pick up the slack other players may have. (that was a funny one to see people react to)

course i do also want to say that they can say *never* but look at WoW with *you guys dont like classic wow* and how they are getting it now, or with us how they can say one thing but do another (housing demolish, personal housing separate, ect) anything can happen if the player base actually wants it.

As im indifferent to parsing still did it but have to ask 1 of the questions was have you ever harassed sum1 else and used a parser to do so. i don't wanna assume anything but what if a person who has comes across that question do u think they will answer it honestly im just curious as i don't believe they will.
