dont bother buying stormblood or heavensward either. because as you know...ARR is the main game, the expansions are just optional content. no worries

that is incredibly disingenuous to say, expansion packs add a ton of content that in an mmo is the heart of the game.

the items in the mog station are just clothes or emotes that don't affect playing the game at all.

they are not even remotely the same thing. that being said, it's entirely possible to still enjoy arr without any expansions i guess. and i do think $7 is too much for some emotes, considering mog station items used to be a LOT cheaper (look at the prices of stuff from the first halloween event for example). but nobody is required to buy these or should feel pressured to in the same way as buying an expansion.

Nobody should be told, in a p2p mmo, to skip something because its optional. I know im overexaggeratng, paying for an expansion is not the same as an emote, but its in the same vein.


Why should i be paying more for something i already pay for, and why is it ok to skip it, simply because its optional? This game is casual friendly, this game is dress up and glamour friendly, to alot of people, having the best glams is what they play for..collecting minions and mounts is the reason they sub...would you still then say, that the very sole reason, the entire purpose they pay there sub, is optional content?

"optional content" is such a broad term that you simply cannot apply it to anything.


I dont craft at all, i dont gather at all..to me, that is optional content, i wouldnt be sad if they put recipes in the mogstation and the ONLY way to get and craft that recipe was buying it from the mogstation..why? because to me, thats optional content that i wont do. But its not optional content to alot of people. Raids are optional content to casuals who dont raid. should that be behind the mogstation too? its optional afterall. Glamour is a huge part of this game, collecting is a huge part. having everything and achieving everything is a goal of many people.


So no, i would not consider emotes and glamour items and mounts as "optional content" because i do not see anything else as optional content, i see it simply as Content. and it should not be locked behind a paywall.


and just so you know, those halloween things and such are priced like that because they used to be in the game. it wasnt a new emote or a new costume they had to create.
