Hey, OP, please do a little research into game design and mechanics. You can even check out free tutorials with Blender on how mesh is created and then potentially animated. In a game such as Second Life, where people can upload their own mesh and creations, such a thing is often difficult depending on the technical limitations. FF14 simply doesn’t have the physics engine to do this for a bunch of players. It would most likely have no bounce or flow, and thus would require a huge game physics reboot and, or increased PC/system requirements, which would eliminate players with lower end machines. It also just isn’t cost-viable to rework a whole system just for capes.

Excitable, maybe and potentially someone who doesn't speak English as his first language...but at least he's making suggestions at a time when male orientated glamour is a pretty hot topic of discussion. In fact, I'm pretty sure that Yoshi-P himself encouraged people to offer up suggestions for glamour/customisation options that they'd like to see with actual reference pics to prevent confusion. Something the OP has took the time to do.

Okay, I'll bite. Enlighten me on the hostility here.

Other people are kinder than me and are discussing his idea without mentioning how childish and idiotic he's coming across when presenting his ideas. But all of his posts are basically "SE do this, you'd be dumb not to, look at my great idea I got from watching [insert anime here]." Some of the ideas are good... but they are not his, and SE probably has good reasons for not implementing them, such as modeling limits or being unable to make the design work for all races. The coat-cape thing ITT would be a challenge for the team to make look good and not like a flat lump of texture that twitches in the breeze. They might welcome the challenge but who's to say? Certainly not OP, whatever he thinks of his own brilliance.

Basically it's a kid thinking he knows more than professional design teams and presenting his suggestions in the worst way possible.

Well, don't say I didn't try to apologise or stand up for you a bit there. Seems you want to have direct insults and carry this on.

For the record, XI pre-abyssea was and will always be better than what XIV is now. With that said, I will not turn away from my stance on all the cosplay gear, except a few jokey ones that seem to work like the moogle and chocobo outfits. For stuff like the scion gear, it takes away the uniqueness of the NPCs and for the other FF hero gears, it just doesn't fit in with anything within the world, making us look out of place even worse than the jokey stuff. For people who make the really weird Glamour like the speedo example earlier, that can not be helped but still wasn't a direct set put into the game to make someone look like that. I won't mention anymore on the stiffness etc. as others are still going on about that.

I am not saying don't make ideas at all, I'm not saying don't post ideas. What I am saying is to think about what your ideas brings to the game, both placement and mechanic wise.

I don't think I ever implied that I was being more mature, though OP is certainly trying to turn this into a personal flame war with his replies.

OP should probably reconsider his approach to sharing his ideas of what he'd like to see implemented in the game. Can you honestly say that you'd look at a suggestion by someone who titles their threads "Didn't think of this did you" and take it seriously? The forum reps choose what to pass on to the devs, so if you want to get their attention in a POSITIVE way, making more benign topics like "Outfits from anime that could work in XIV" would probably be a better way to go about it. It also invites other people to participate and share. Obviously OP isn't getting the kinds of responses that he wants with his current tactics so maybe he can try a less inflammatory approach. As it is he sounds like a stupid kid who sees a cool thing and wants it in the game, feasibility and style clash be damned. If he isn't a troll, he has a lot to learn.
