If you want everyone to have the same chance in getting a house plot there are other ways.
- Send everyone back to the main city they started with (Or any place other than Kugane/Shirogane).
This means that everyone has to teleport to Kugane/Shirogane.
-Keep plots locked for 1 hour when servers are up.
People can enter wards but cannot buy any plot until 1 hour later. It gives time for people who had loading issues.
This means that last minute arrival and the first person to get there have equal chance to get the plot.
If it is about people getting rich, what it wrong with that? Gil is easy to make in this game and hardly spend it on anything.

Not really. The OP was proposing jacking up housing prices using inflation as justification to limit housing competition for wealthy players.
You were asking if inflation is going to continue and fretting about it being excessive as well as asking if every major patch their will be catch up mechanics.
To answer your questions, yes inflation will continue, no it probably wont make us all billionaires in 5 years. Yes catch-up mechanics will continue, they don't want new players to stay too far behind to catch up to old players.
thanks. Think your probably right
question answered ^^
The economy is always going to shift as game development continues. I paid for my house by selling the Materia VI rewards from the Stormblood MSQ. Some doors close, others open. Find a niche and exploit it.
Increasing House prices to something the we don't have open won't do anything, btw as much as you can earn gil as fast you can wasted it.
Increasing house prices hurts smaller servers drastically or server who have a tough economy or servers with inflated MB prices who struggle due to supply and demand.
The reason they lowered housing prices in the first place was so more players could afford housing.
Increasing the housing prices wont solve or help the housing situation. And they are making plans to remedy the situation with the upcoming patches
So make poor people even poorer.they should drastically increase teleport and repair costs and increase the taxes on the market board (and make it so that the seller ALWAYS has to pay taxes. it's not fair for the seller anyway that the buyer decides if and how much taxes the seller has to pay). and yes, housing should be made more expensive too. but maybe not 10 times the price, that's still a bit much, but maybe twice or three times the current price.
we need more gil sinks :O
especially teleport should be made into some kind of luxury: we have airships, chocobo porters, ferrys and of course mounts for traveling, wich are all not worth using because teleporting is just too easy o.o/
They could just change the method of housing acquisition away from gil.

Let's not turn this topic into another housing threat. Housing is irrelevant in term of gil sink no matter how expensive you make it to be, simply because of the supply is too limited. You need some kind of accessible gil sink.
The problem with this game, is most of the good things is accquired without gil. They are from mog station, map, achievement, or alternate currency like MGP. They need to split some of these things into gil, or make gil more involved in the process. For example I remember in WoW: lichking (the last Expack I played), the game added 3 cool mount to be bought by gold. They also had a motorbike that required a lot of expensive purchase from NPC to craft, and I knew quite a few people blew their saving on it. Comparing to that if you look at this game, we have not have any significant gil sink since the original game outside of housing, which like I said was an irrelevant method.
