Flipping a page on a controller is not a problem, you get a really fast and easy access to 32 buttons on a controller with it or even additional 16 if you want. Imho stretching my finger over a keyboard with ctrl + key or alt + key is the thing that scares me from playing mmorpgs on pc, its just like you are playing yoga with your fingers, bleh.
Never been a fan of these kind of mouses, i had one of them, they are large, bulky and i was constantly pressing something i didnt wanted to, because it feelt awkward playing with the thumb on these buttons. Its like you have to move your entire hand to press some buttons if you dont have long enough finger to do so, causing the mouse to fly over the screen somewhere.https://www.amazon.com/HV-MS735-1200.../dp/B01DW2VQ5A I use this. it works just fine and has a pretty good set of buttons. It could be really cheap if the mouse is big and you have inappropriate hands. xD
Could also be the mouse you got.Never been a fan of these kind of mouses, i had one of them, they are large, bulky and i was constantly pressing something i didnt wanted to, because it feelt awkward playing with the thumb on these buttons. I have small hands (I have to wear kids' gloves -.-) and so a lot of these bulky mouses don't work well for me either, but then I found one that actually fit me and reaching with a thumb became really easy!
I switched to controller a few months ago after I gave it a try, but not because the mouse was bad (I just tend to hunch too much on mouse and it was making my back ache, but not on controller), but I did play a long time on https://www.amazon.com/M901-Perditio...WYPSPB4DNHK1TW (notice there's less wasted space on the side hence why it's not as bulky as the one linked above)
But that being said, controller play is very comfortable and I don't think I could go back now either! (except targeting)

what? no. I just adjust my thumb for the keypad. sometimes I put pressure on different areas of said thumb, using the entire thumb(including the underside of my knuckle and the ridge of meat near the middle of my thumb's fingerprint).Never been a fan of these kind of mouses, i had one of them, they are large, bulky and i was constantly pressing something i didnt wanted to, because it feelt awkward playing with the thumb on these buttons. as for size, it's covers the majority of my palm and that's it. my hands aren't particularly large, either. arguably mid-sized.
I get that it's something vaguely similar to a precision tool but if anything I'd call that a point in it's favor since it can do a lot of things.
I'm on a PC and play with a console controller because of chronic pain issues and the cross hotbars are easier for me to remember. It makes each skill a certain point on a set shape that's easy to see and that makes it much easier for me to memorize buttons and rearrange them. Whether or not that's easier or better for anyone really just depends on how their brain processes that kind of information.
