That's like saying World of Warcraft isn't a part of the Warcraft series because it's an mmo and not an rts. Then again not like most people playing that now remember Warcraft 3.

FFXV is an ARPG guess it doesn't count either?
What about FFXII it plays completely differently from the other games.
Back in the day was FFIV not considered a true FF game because of it used the ATB as opposed to turn-based battles?
In a game series as broad as Final Fantasy I don't think you can disqualify a game from the main series due to a shift in genre imo, this isn't a Dragon Quest situation where every single game in the series plays exactly the same.

FFXI and FFXIV are definitely still (MMO)JRPG's, just now you can enjoy the content with friends or complete strangers. If the Online games lacked a story (and was just grinding levels, dungeons and gear), then yeah, they would have no place as a part of the main franchise. But they do have a story and a fantastic soundtrack, as well as many other things that make the game feel like a Final Fantasy game (Crystals, iconic beasts, music, job system, etc).

Look
Just because you meet ONE person who has an incorrect P.O.V about what is and what isn't doesn't mean you should take it at face value. Just...pat them on the head, tell that's nice and move on.
Really, its no big deal lol.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.

I think they were messing with you to get you worked up... clearly it says FF in the title and as they appear in Dissidia they are confirmed major titles... unlike lets say... Final Fantasy Legends GBA or whatever.

They are main games. Most games that combine all the universes (Theathrhythm, Dissidia, that one mobile game) have characters from both.
Of course, that doesn't stop people from saying they arent.
The key difference is the fact that 11 and 14 are both multiplayer games while the rest of the series is staunch single player. While you are welcome to have your own opinion as they have the right to have their own opinion but what you dont have the right to do is tell someone that their opinion is wrong. Their opinion is no more or less right than yours.
