Nah, the emote is a major incentive. It serves as extra encouragement for people with a disposable income to make the purchase if they want something very exclusive to use in-game.

Yet quite some people already wrote that they would buy the statue even without the emote and on top of that those are limited anyway. So you will probably have some that only bought them for the emote but you will have more than enough that would have bought it without them.

They could simply put the emote in the mog station after some time. So people would have their exclusive emote for some time and yet others still get the chance to own them. And all those that did not get the chance to own the statue (because its limited) or just want the emote thus did not buy it would then spend money on this too so even more money for SE.

The sad irony is that a lot of the people complaining about the emote being tied to the statue would continue to complain if it had been a Mogstation purchase, saying that it should have been included in the game for free.



I don’t care about the exclusivity of DLCs; I think they should be made available via several venues (e.g., plushies, statues, art books, albums, Mogstation). But a lot of people just want everything for free. SE is a business. If people stopped buying external DLCs, SE would just stop allocating the funds to even make them—they wouldn’t automatically become available for free in-game: they just wouldn’t be made at all.

Well yes before all of that I would have wished for this to be ingame. (Like defeat Shiva x time or something like that) But I do understand that it would not be coming ingame after it got attached to the statue. So no I dont believe that many would complain after it was known that it would also be put on the mog station.

Honestly if the statue would be available all the time people could have saved their money for this over time..but since its probably limited again you will simply not get it if you are not fast enough. So using it as a incentive to sell the statue is just bad..I mean if nobody wants to buy a limited statue without the emote then you kinda have to question if its too expensive..because stuff like that tend to sell just because its limited..

I have to respectfully disagree. People would complain. Just look at the complaints behind the Carbuncle mounts and attire. Some is about the price (and I will give people that--they're a tad expensive, but the value and worth of them are subjective matters), but a lot is about, yet again, the items not being in-game for free, be it as part of the new achievement points system, part of the Heavensturn event (which, when has that ever given us more than strange-looking hats and furniture), or locked behind some ridiculously long grind (I believe someone mentioned them being locked behind 10,000 dungeons, which I shudder at the thought of).

While I can't speak on if it's limited or not, the Odin statue is back on the JP SE store. I would have to check if it still includes Zantetsuken or not, but it's there. Could possibly mean another round of production for NA as well. Just have to wait and see.
