I can't be sure, but I don't think that could work with the way this game seems to handle items and item slots. If it's possible at all, I think they would have to create a separate item that is a predefined "complete set" costume and you could maybe trade all the set pieces in to gain that set, but then the game wouldn't see you as owning the individual pieces any more.
