This raid tier is even worse for DP, because you only have one situation where DA DP is actually worth: O3s last add phase! If you manage hit Halicarnassus, the giant and all 6 ninjas it is indeed quite the damage potential.

BUT! DP is only usefull when combined with DA. Abyssal Drain is still better than DP - despite being an oGCD - because its cost are nearly half of DP.

In the end non-DA DP is never worth, due to high cost, low potency; DA DP is only worth at 3+ mobs.
DP is an oGCD and for that it is pretty weak. (Just a cost reduction could even make it worth single target.)

Non da DP on 2 enemies is still 200 pot vs. DA 140 pot for the same cost so it is worth it but using DA is just better considering how rare add phases are.

It's worth noting that you can squeeze it on neo exdeath during every meteor phase as well.
It's also incredibly good in Shinryu's first phase with tails/heart, although shinryu ain't raid.

The cost DOES justify the use, instead of Dark Arting two GCDs, you just use DP instead, it does significantly more damage even at just two enemies. It does feel like it costs an arm and a leg but what's the difference between using that or just DAing two GCDs back to back or using DA on a GCD and also using TBN? The only time it legitimately isn't worth it is if you will need a TBN for heavy mitigation in the next 4 main combo GCDs and will have no mp after using DP.

As for buttons I am already over my limit on DRK where I need to put Quietus and Blood Price on a third xhb, PLD as well is over that limit but by even more. WAR however has 0 space issues. I don't like using a third xhb bc it's super unintuitive to me.

Only time you DA syphon strike is if you're about to cap on mp,which is usually during blood weapon. Also, most people are referring to a single target situation.
In an AoE situation you're using DA +AD and Quietus, which are way more effective than wasting mp on DP. It just isn't worth it. Also the blind on DA + DP conflicts with the (meager) mp gain from blood price.

As for your hotbar, that's honestly a personal problem.

If you're going to blow 2,400 MP on a HP-absorb that doesn't matter you can blow it on +100 potency.

It doesn't matter what people "think" or how many people agree, it is a fact that it is the best use of your MP in any AoE situation, especially at 2-3 since AD and Quietus are extremely less effective at such a low number. But it's useless on one target, which I am okay with. However if you aren't using DADP when there is 2+ enemies, you aren't playing DRK to the best of its abilities.

And yes that is a personal problem, I never implied it wasn't. I am just wondering how next expac will work as it is for us controller users ; ;
