That scares me, it gives me the idea it was being Diadem 3.0 and they freaked out when they noticed how the community responded to Diadem
Didn't they just release bard performance, and that was not up to snuff of what was expected? I'd have to find the quote, but I believe the devs rushed performance through and it's essentially a beta as it is right now. So I don't agree with giving content now that they feel isn't ready to whatever standards they have.

I'm a bit annoyed, but I guess this will give me time to focus on getting gear for my main. Raid has been hard on my MNK for pugging and it's kind of pointless now to grind for gear that's going to be outdated in a few weeks.

Also Eureka having a separate leveling system, but it's the focus on a relic armor and weapon... just as long as the weapon we get for finishing a tier rivals that of savage raid and not ten levels under just for making us wait so long.

    Are you?
I'll be disappointed if it's shoddy or problematic content. If the extra time is going into that final layer of polish to make it perfect, fine, no complaints whatsoever - I'll actually be grateful they waited. If it's a second (err, third) coming of Diadem, I'm going to be pissed.

I'm hoping the delays mean it'll actually be enjoyable in the long run and not something that'll be forgotten as soon as the relic steps involving it are done.

I am fine with some focus on PVP because there are people that are interested in playing it. But why did we truly need battle recorders? I mean its even already quite restricted so who is truly going to use that feature? Maybe its good for raid groups (but those already got Ultimate) and some youtubers but its just bad when the more casual content like Eureka gets pushed back. (And lets not talk how this record feature somehow took more time of the liveletter than something like the glamour or housing part..)

I might be fine with a bit of a pushback if this was not just hinted at in 3.x already and thus we are waiting for this for quite some time..on top of that they already tried to sell us Diadem 2.0 and other content as something great and I can never forget how Yoshida said that the second Titan battle at the end of 3.x was something never seen before...and the only thing it changed was the flavor text...So I remain skeptic with them selling it as something new for FF14..if this is going on for so long and will be release in 4.25, why cant we at least get some more information? Maybe I would feel better if I had at least a better grasp on how this will function. Yet even now we barely know anything about it. It just feels like even the devs dont feel confident in it..

In the end 4.2 will bring just another two dungeons, a primal fight and omega...stuff that will be done in one week max. The beast tribe is at least something that I will do daily but those dont take that long..so in the end I was really looking forward to Eureka but even that will have to wait again..(if they gave us a true glamour book I would have had a big long term goal but even that is not possible..) On top of that they decided to put Hildibrand into the 4.x5 patches because they felt like people are doing it later anyway..instead of just leaving the choice to the players. So even more stuff that is pushed back which would not be a problem if the initial main patch would have lots of new and old things to do.

Well then why did they feel the need to rush out perform? I mean this is not some long term content, just something nice next to playing the game. So its their own fault if they rushed it out anyway. While Eureka was already known in 3.x so its not something that we only heard recently from. But seeing how they still barely talk about this I do kinda wonder if they are even feeling comfortable about it. I mean this content is existing for a time so I just cant believe that they are still so deeply in developing it that so much can change about that..so for me it just feels off, like they know that people might not be that happy about it..but maybe thats just me and being too skeptic after all the stuff they had done.

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.

Imo, if you're not using the gear for savage you're grinding it for glamour. Which there's nothing wrong with that. What I'm saying is, is that if you don't raid, then it doesn't really matter when they release the content since the item levels have no virtual usage. The item level is for bigger show than the glamour is, if you don't raid. But that's my opinion and I could be wrong.
I dont know, to give the average person something to do since there isnt much there atm. Regardless of wording you make it sound like if they dont raid, they dont deserve to have anything to do during their game time or something.

Not disappointed at all. In fact, I like it that we'll be getting content little by little, instead of all of it at the same day and then spending several months with nothing new.

Besides, as someone else said, there'll be many things to do in 4.2! That's another reason for me to prefer getting the content little by little, so I can focus on it all without the rush of wanting to do everything at the same time *laughs*.

I'm starting to get very frustrated by the content they are developing at this point. Squadrons, dungeon video playback, diadem, lords of vermilion. I assume some people like PvP given all the focus and balance it has been getting, but I don't.... and I don't care about Savage or Ultimate either. For a "casual focused" game, they sure seem to be forgetting about the casual player base. It seems like a lot of resources are directed toward smaller subsets of the game's population.
Squadrons are casual, it's one content you can jump in or out of with no queues, no need to coordinate 4-30 human players, no animosity from others if you are subpar. My only issues with it are:

1.You can't bring a friend or two in with you.
    2. All the dungeons are older dungeons.
    3. It is just for leveling, there is no progression like new unique gear, new dungeons, new mechanics.

It also seems we're going to get more than one Eureka zone, the first being Anemos. It really does kind of feel like this is going to be a mishmash of the parts of Diadem and Palace of the Dead they liked the most. Maybe that'll make this fun, who knows. I'm skeptical, it'll be fun for a month maybe? Then get boring fast like everything in this game to be honest. I hope not though, still hoping for that Sky/Sea(maybe Dynamis lol) vibe from XI. :3
Sky/Sea/Dyna was only relevant as long as it was due to RNG and lockouts. Take any raid in this game and add long RNG or lockouts, remove the open world aspect, and remove the focus of defeating spawns with pop items, focusing on bosses and you have XIV sky/sea/dyna.

If XI was designed like XIV in those events. You would only go and fight Byakko, Seiryu, Suzaku, Genbu, and Kirin in sky, there would be no Ullikumi or Faust, no repeated fighting of the golems or pots. You would get your drops faster here at whatever the ilvl is at that time. And if sky was not enhanced or added to by new zones or higher ilvls, it would be just like any other raid here. Obsolete other than for glamour purposes 1-2 new raids after it.

They wouldn't be exactly alike though. Because those sky/sea/dyna areas were huge, you could get lost at times if you didn't know where to go. Most instanced maps here are straight forward. I used to get lost In even open world areas like Yuhtunga jungle or ifrit's cauldron, or those Halvung areas. Those underground caves with all the tonberries were fun to get lost in and the bane of my life at the same time.

They got the right idea for Eureka, at least from what I have read. But it needs to have an open world aspect. You're breath of the wild type open world unlocks, a merit, champion point, gw2 mastery or something for perpetual progression, all self contained, then the instanced stuff for more challenging high mechanic intensive encounters.

They did it in hopes casual players would become interested in raiding. Clearly that is not the case based on the census numbers.
For example, my reason for not raiding is that I hate content that requires statics and scheduling my life around a video game. I want to log on when I want to play and only then. Hence raiding is not for me. Other people will have their own reasons I'm sure.
I don't raid for that reason and no matter how interesting they made raiding, it wouldn't draw me in. Maybe additionally for me, I don't like to queue, especially when queuing stops my progress in the middle of something else I am trying to accomplish.

Personally, I am hoping Eureka is more organic grouping like Abyssea. I can go in solo with one or two friends and actually accomplish stuff with no waiting. Try a few NM, if we lose, maybe a few other people close by wanna group and we win. Maybe there is a world boss or instanced raid in the horizon, we form a party with other groups. Now if we really wanna get some progress on the top end for the really hard stuff that require strict party composition in big numbers. That's when there is no way around needing to queue. But let there be progress from solo to raiding. That might sound like a high level fate zone or gw2 zone and for some stuff that is fine.(no syncing required, hope the zone is always whatever max level is) I want them to get fancy with instances within the zone, via pop items or leve type pseudo instances. Mini instances with mechanic intensive fights. Whoever is your group at the time of entry or spawn gets sucked into that instance.
