While the Glamour Revision is welcomed - I feel like its missing the mark

I just want to remind everyone that this is the first step, as per SE's usual methods. We rarely get the whole thing properly set up on at first go. With that said, I am glad that they finally opened the doors to this. It's not completely wide open but its just enough to get through and I am confident that with time, it will be refined.

Remember how many QoLs started very small but overtime came to full fruition.

The way I understand the description is that the Glamour Toilet is basically a "glamour log of 200 slots" where we decide which 200 gear pieces we want to log.

Then we can build a total of 10 "ensembles", each ensemble consists of a selection of stuff from the Glamour Toilet.

And at any given time, we can apply an ensemble to our character, and it somehow is remembered. We can also have two jobs wearing the exact same set of armor yet use different ensembles. So I have absolutely no idea how it remembers whether I want my Ensemble #1 for my PLD Savage Set and my Ensemble #2 for my PLD Roulette Set.

I'm extremely disappointed that there's only 10 ensembles. I want each of my crafter and gatherer classes to wear their specialized scrip gear, and that alone is 11 classes.

I feel the designer of this system have absolutely no idea what we want, there's somehow a complete re-write of requirements between player demand and dev requirement documentation, and whoever did the re-write don't seem to care.

But there's like, 20 + jobs, inc DoH and DoL. The whole reason people were asking is so all their tanks, casters, healers etc could glam unique to their job.

I think the idea might be, you still glamour something normally for one job and then ensemble-glamour for other jobs of the same role. So your healing gear, tank gear, caster gear, ranged gear, drg gear, nin gear, miscellaneous melee gear all have their own regular glamours still, and then the ensemble slots would be for the two other healers, two other tanks, two other casters, one ranged, and one or two others maybe.

It's not enough for crafters and gatherers, but I would think most people probably don't play literally everything often enough to need that many different glamours. And they are making one single glamour prism, and they already made them buyable for like 200 seals, so it's probably not that hard to carry a stack of 999 of the one glamour prism for when you want your armorer to wear the armorer pants.

And honestly, 200 slots is more than enough to glamour with, you just have to be smart with what you choose. Pick gear that you think is hard to regain and gear that you like. Don't put lv 18 gear into the commode unless you really want to use it but also keep in mind that if you need to discard to make space, start with the pieces of gear that are easiest to obtain.

You can get close to 200 just on job artifact gear if you've levelled every job. It's a tiny number compared to how much stuff is in the game. A full on transmog style system where every item you've ever had is available to you through a list to glamour again would be a much better idea. Then they could reduce inventory sizes instead of increasing them because you won't need to keep any of that stuff.

While I agree with you a bit as well, for me 200 is more than enough, I save the rare items over the ones that's easy.

I have played a lot of mmo's in my time and one thing that really stands out about this game is the constant problems the developers have with server limitations, it seems like its the excuse for 90% of the stuff they cant do in the game or cant do enough of.
Housing, glamours and inventory space, mmo's like wow and gw2 had no problem implementing some of the best wardrobe systems out there, wow had a similar system to ff14 before they updated to the proper wardrobe system for legion last year in that system there is no limit to what you can save to it and it even shows what you havn't collected and where to find them and you tie can looks to specific specs and its account wide
GW2 has had its wardrobe system since it launched back in 2012 and it is also account wide, so maybe now that ff14 has 10mill+ registered players its time for square to give their developers a hand and fully upgrade the servers for the game in the best way possible.

This is my hope as well. I can't wait to finally reclaim one of my retainers that is just full of gear.

With that said, SE does tend to implement things in rather weird ways, so I'm not sure if it will ever get to where I truly hope it will, but I do think this is just the start for them with revisions to come later on.

From what I can see all SE has done is create another CF like housing. This is another case of SE being good at developing stories but not knowing the first thing about software development (i.e. server limitations excuse for everything). SE needs to hire someone that has good knowledge of database design and implementation. While they're at it adding a few folks who know how to and aren't afraid of writing code would be good as well. If nothing else they could have taken the armoire and rewritten the way it works to support glamour and outfits. A bit restricting since the locations to use it are limited but not really any different than what they have proposed for 4.2.

While this will be a small space help it is not what we really need which is a glamour log that stores the look of all items we have acquired. It is fine to restrict a glamour log to inn or house access only. (Also please change the English name for this item as Commode = toilet to a lot of us.)

lol I know! I can't believe that... you think someone would have mentioned that when name suggestions came up, that's flippin' hilarious! As for the new system... it's still in it's early stages, will see how it pans out (totally not sorry for the pun )
