I don't think this has changed from the 4.15 patch notes or the 4.18 patch notes Granted by power generator >>>1 unit per 3 seconds6 units of ceruleam a second is worth it, since ur mechs shoudltn be dieing faster than ur gathering the ceruleum from the units generated.
sacrificing 6 ppl to go collect it, instead of 2-3 ppl guarding middle just isnt as effective.
Heck, if you're a healer, kitting 3 ppl away from objectives for 5mins, you're already being more productive than actually doing objectives yourself.
It's about how useful you're being per person.
From what I've seen it's a bit deeper than that. Because they guard the generator rather fiercely, all that CE piles up and they're able to push mechs out and overwhelm the falcons, couple that with mammet pushing and things go south for Falcons pretty fast.Yes when it comes to the gate coming down Falcons (blue) has a disadvantage to reach the generator at the same time in the same place, with the Ravens. Ravens side takes the stairs to the middle building leading up to the Generator, which Falcons can't do this same practice, because their is an obstruction of a building right outside, which Ravens do not have on the opposite side. This leaves Falcons a second short of reaching the Generator, because they have to take the hill to the front door of the Generator building. So yeah Ravens side has the advantage usually to reach the Generator first.
Yeah. Pretty much this. They'll park a few healers mid and then it's near impossible to get enough people on Falcons to rush mid and take it over, and even when you do it takes a very long time.
It doesn't matter who gets there first, it matters which group is more coordinated to fight off the initial push.
Well there is one slight advantage to getting it turn on first, whether you eventually lose it in the long run. Getting your hands on it first and keeping the opposing team from it long enough, all the while you fight to keep the Generator, it ticks long enough for that team to get them a few machina out on the field. Even if you lose the Generator, you have enough CE by the time they have mopped you up and killed everyone.
Mid is far more important than people give it credit for. Yes, it's not your only source of CE, this is true, but that's not the point. It's a CE over time. The effect isn't immediate. You will start seeing it start taking effect 3-5 minutes in. While you guys push mammets to potentially destroy one tower, you've unlocked their brute with very little CE to stand up to a Brute that's probably going to block the other tower. But then you have to deal with the team slapping your other tower.
But again, this comes down to your pilots in general. Blue's disadvantage is literally that they can never get to mid at the same time as Red. But people need to learn to fight ONTOP of the core rather than door to wall. You're basically giving Red all the room to setup. Get in their and disrupt them.
This mode has only two teams and yet the map balance is terrible. This reminds me of SR when caves had the advantage.. It is possible to win but why is one team always at a slight disadvantage when starting Square please..
this thread sounds so "maelstroms always win" *cries*
It's funny that I've actually been getting good winning Blue Teams since the new update. Honestly, mid is NOT important. As long as you have a person gathering CE tanks, you can keep pushing out mechs just as often as red. In fact the last time I played(last night), I was in Falcons and my party never once worried about a mech not being up. And Falcons won. Red had mid the entire time. The more I see people give up because they don't have mid, the more disappointed I am in the people willing to just leave.
Mid is a trickle source. GOOD TO HAVE, but not necessary for victory. This has been proven repeatedly. But you have players that absolutely won't accept the possibility otherwise and will simply give up and throw the match if it doesn't happen, or waste their time bickering about it.
Maybe not having it means you have to work harder or not, but as it stands, owning/occupying the generator isn't a win condition, and it's entirely possible to win without it.
