Personally, I wouldn't mind if they added a few more inches to Female AuRa's max height and keep min height where it is.
Don't know why some of you are getting defensive over it. Most of you play with the shortest height-setting anyway, so it won't effect you... :B

With the way the height slider works in this game on a scale of 0-100 with each number being preset with a specific height from min to max such a change would impact every single player that has a female au ra character whose height is not set to 0. They'd have to completely redesign the height slider in order to do this without such ramifications, which is not likely to happen. So that would mean to add eight inches the 100 value would need to be changed to 70 inches as it is now at about 62 inches, this would cause all Au Ra at the 50 value to go from being to go from being about 59 inches to about 63 inches which is taller than the current max. TO compensate for this then SE would need to offer fantasias for free to all Au Ra players, which would cause other players to cry foul. It's simply just not going to happen.

I wish the Au Ra could be taller, also with some savage looks too. The lore writes things about dragons on their character sheet, so they could at least display some sense of savagery to warrant a thought in the lore like that.

The Au Ra won't change, but they could do the same for the next race (whatever it is)... only make the males the tiny ones and the women tall. Equality!

I don't really understand why people are so against the concept of taller female Au Ra though. If they kept the minimum height but extended the maximum height, would it really make a difference to you? You can keep your tiny lizard ladies and the people who want to be taller than the male's waists can have that too.

As I said it would indeed impact any and all of those who have a female au ra at a height value other than 0. Many people are quite happy with their characters and a sudden height increase could through off looks and glamours that have been molded.

I'm pretty sure in the alternate universe where this is a thing that could plausibly happen...

1) SE would come to the same conclusion you have and
2) would work to mitigate the effects so that the re-scaling didn't affect existing characters

I have faith that SE's employees can solve those kinds of problems if they're tasked to do so, even if it takes them years to do it thanks to insane technical debt and slapdash code with zero documentation.

It won't happen for this game but perhaps they'll see the huge demand for more character customization and incorporate that feedback in the design process for the next MMO they make (you bet your sweet bippy they're going to make another with the success of XIV after 2.0 if the MMO market still exists). More options = more happy players.
