    It has been known for a while now sub money from this game goes towards SE other projects, the cash shop is suppose to go back into ffxiv. But who knows if that is the case.
    Honestly this game should get a bigger budget but of course some will argue from a business standpoint....

    From a business standpoint all revenue earned from one project should go to keeping that project thriving to bring in more. Once you reach the point where your revenue exceeds your overhead(maintenance/servers/ISP/whatever else they need to run the project) then they could siphon the funds off for other projects.
