As for the tank identification issue, there is maybe a 1% chance you'll actually be using Summon II in most group content so that not really an issue, maybe a FATE or Hunt but that wouldn't be a huge problem anyway.

It's a lot more prominent in the lower levels when people don't know the difference between the summons/egis, but it's prominent there from what I've seen. Much easier to pick up on before they can glamour over it, less so when they can and Titan is glamoured into Ruby. Then ofc there're the SMNs who outright don't care and run Titan whenever they want to. Being able to tell at a glance that your SMN isn't going to contribute and doesn't care about your time is important.

Sorry but no. If at level 50 a player doesn't understand the difference, maybe they need to find a new job. It tells you one is caster, one is tank, and one is attacker. Then you'll be able to tell the moment they cast Enkindle because Summon II will have a ground effect and S.III won't. As for your other point, again no. I could cast Ruby Carbuncle on Summon II right now and nobody could tell if it was suppose to be S.II or S.III.

The most confusing would be a week or two after the patch when player don't know you can glamour like that and everyone freaks out because Titan is on the field, but someone will tell them it's okay and all is good again.
