Well, that was interesting.
Just abandoned a dungeon for the first time ever.
I'm on a new character on Gilgamesh. Gladiator. I'm just learning tanking. I queue into Tam-Tara. I see a bunch of sprouts. Ok cool! I say to everyone "Hi there! First time here!" No replies. Ok let's go then. WHM (who is wearing lvl 50 gear) rushes ahead after Protect and starts throwing stones at the first mob. I shield lob, get them close and hit Flash.
He's still casting stone repeatedly and his enmity bar is as full as mine. I'm having trouble pulling them all back to me, I even move away from him but that doesn't work. We clear the first mob and he rushes ahead to the next. Again, I'm trying to pull them off but now the lancer is generating more enmity as well so I'm trying to reposition, hit Flash again, do combo, while the healer is still throwing Stone. I use Ramparte because he's not yet healed me much. Get to the first orb and WHM pulls before I can shield lob so I figured, he wants to do both jobs, go for it. I stop doing anything. Thaum asks "Tank?" I say, WHM clearly feels like tanking. WHM speaks up saying "I don't want to be here all day." Oh well, sorry! Silly me. He clears that pack and we move into the next hallway. Again, same thing, before I even get there, he's pulled the hallway. So, have it. WHM finally asks if I'm going to do anything, I say you seem to be doing just fine. That's when it kind of hits the fan.
He says "ok look.. your not pulling mobs off of me when you were "tanking"... then your not even pulling.... How would YOU like to run this dungeon so you can be happy?"
I can't pull mobs off people when their enmity is as high as mine and they're pulling first. I replied with "I seem to recall saying "hello! First time here", you can clearly see the sprout and I'm wearing level-appropriate gear. Imagine that, I might be new!" He asked how I wanted to run the dungeon and I said "without you, is that an option?"
So then we go down through the next hallway and again, he starts pulling before I have a chance to shield lob. So I ran ahead, popped Ramparte and pulled another group. WHM pulled one away, I kept shield lobbing it and running to it to Flash, but he was doing nothing but hitting it with Stone and we both had full enmity bars. In the meantime, I died. Because he wasn't healing (either purposely or because he was fixated on throwing Stone or Stone II, can't remember which to be honest). He wouldn't raise me either.
So I took the penalty and I left.

Canadian, eh!"When someone told me I live in a fantasy land, I nearly fell off my unicorn"

I main BLM and I absolutely hate having to constantly move and risk losing enochian and have my DPS go down the tubes, but I /do/ move out of the way of AOEs and whatnot because why should i make it even harder on my teammates? In my eyes, it's better to have crap DPS for a little bit than have a healer who has to struggle to get my health back up (or worse, let me die to focus on the more important tank). I hate BLMs who just go "nope! I'm a turret and turrets don't move!" Ideally, yeah I'd like to do that, but I'm not going to.Ah yes, BLM tales.
Ran Research Facility.
2nd Boss BLM got petrified in his leylines because he couldn't be bothered to turn around.
3rd boss, he ate 4 debuff stacks (ouch) because he wouldn't move out of his leylines.
Last boss, he ate the debuffs from Universal Manipulation because, guess what? The portals aren't leylines. No use standing in one of them then, eh?
So, I'm sorry you got that crappy BLM![]()

You know, I hate low lvl dgns with every fiber of my being. Especially when I'm put there with other players that are not new or even low leveled. That being said...
I will never ever be a dick to someone who's new at the dgn or their job or both. Or just anything really because I have to swallow the fact that a roulette is indeed what it is: a roulette. Why make life hell for other players that have no control over that algorithm? If I really feel like I can't stomach a dgn, I'll just leave.
But for that WHM, just for that asshole, I would alt tab and netflix. I ain't eating a penalty cuz one player decided to be an ass and no one else decided to speak up about it either.
Healing DRK is literally... the same since ShB. The reason why people think it's a meme to heal nowadays because DRK receives very little to no buff to their sustainability vs 3 other tanks getting something useful. If you're capable of healing DRK back in ShB (or any tanks), then you'll heal EW DRK just fine.
I did ex roulette today and I was on my drg. Asked mch if he wanted my tether, he says yes. He was never around... ever. I even ran up to him and gave him my tether to get his attention... stayed put out in the middle of no man's land... Even asked for him to get closer... never around... wasted my tether on a sub par drk. Never gonna give my tether to a non-melee class again.
Just did a Bardam's Mettle on a SAM with a RDM, DRK and WHM as a healer. First of all, through all the dungeon they used only Cure and Cure II but still constantly stayed on 15-20% of mana. Weird but was oke-ish through the run as we were blowing all the trash packs very fast and tank never overpulled.
Though on the last boss things became really weird. There's a lot of damage going out and WHM wasn't doing great so eventually myself and RDM died from the overall damage when the wings were up. And we weren't ressed. We waited. WHM was dpsing, throwing occasional Cures at tank. We waited... He dpsed. We waited... No ress. First I thought he's waiting for the Swiftcast to go off CD but nothing happened. So we were lying there staring at 2 full lines of LB until tank and healer eventually died after about 2 mins.
We released and ran back, WHM says: "You should stay in the middle - it's safer".
Tank pulls, the boss starts to cast Eye of the Fierce, they all but me come to stand under the boss, get confused, caught in multiply lines AoE, bah! all dead...
Honestly, I just left after it. Hope didn't take them a lot of time to find another dps.

Yuck. That white mage was a horrible person. Players should be willing to work with sprouts and help them learn, not be jerks and make life harder for a new tank.Well, that was interesting. Just abandoned a dungeon for the first time ever.

If you need tanking advice, feel free to ask. I have a level 50 paladin. We could do gladiator rotation work on the FC's target dummies, and do some Fates, so you can feel more confident in dungeons.![]()

Drg has given me a newfound loathing of these sorts of ranged dps. But I've seen it coming, they're not going to stay in range for an aoe heal to literally save their life, what's a 5% buff to them.I did ex roulette today and I was on my drg. Asked mch if he wanted my tether, he says yes. He was never around... ever. I even ran up to him and gave him my tether to get his attention... stayed put out in the middle of no man's land... Had my very first experience with one of those stereotypical tank/healer couples in Shisui today.
> The tank, despite being synced from 70, refused to speed pull (first warning siren).
> The tank also used nothing but Halone combos, irregardless of the situation.
> The tank got all AST card buffs, irregardless of situation.
> The tank got all single target healing, even if we were tanking due to the tank being terrible. DPS only got Helios and nothing more.
The highlight of the run was just after the second boss, where the AST chews me out for getting her seduced by "stealing" her box, despite the boxes always being able to catch multiple players when they go off. After I point this out, the tank, being the valiant knight and mentor he is, tells me how I'm wrong and how terrible I am, and how I give solo players a bad name.
The only thing that could have possibly made this shit more cringe is if they were named Kirito and Asuna.
