Its a moolge's job to dance..... sadly no one else seems to agree![]()
Tired of AST not using earthly stars just like the one I had in o1s with a ast. Tired of whms using medica 2 when there is no healign required going on or aoe. Tired of whm spamming cure 3 when nobody is stacked. Tired of auto pilote schs on pets. I have a bigger list if you want it.Really tired of being in parties where healer only focus is dps and not keeping the party healed. Also keep seeing healer letting the tank die because of not healing and not healing the dps. What's very bad had paladin tank healing himself and dps because healers wasn't. Healers keep seeing not healing is white mage's. Other 2 see healing more than white mage's.
I actually had one of those WHM's not too long ago when I got Thordan NM for my Trial Roulette... I had already topped off the party with my own Medica 2 because it's all that's really needed given the pitiful damage in that fight, but without fail they'd constantly be casting their own version or a regular Medica when the party was already at full health. Not a single bit of DPS was coming out either, so they might as well have just stood there the entire time given how much of a non-entity they were in the fight.Tired of AST not using earthly stars just like the one I had in o1s with a ast. Especially sad when they are 70 and wearing mentor crown. Players who are new to WHM will adapt that behavior because if a mentor does it, it has to be right, right?
If that was the case, I'd get a lot less flak for giving polite advice. Or acknowledged at all in most cases.
I don't even bother telling people they can DPS as healer any more, most of them ignore me and the ones who don't give me some snippy variant of "you don't pay my sub". Holy crap guys I'm not telling you to do some high-level min-max and heal as little as possible but if you're going to stand around like dead weight or spam heals on a tank that loses maybe 1% of their HP every 3 seconds, you can definitely make better use of your own time by throwing out some damage.
I know that not everyone listens to advice, be it from mentors or others. If that was the case, I'd get a lot less flak for giving polite advice. Or acknowledged at all in most cases.

But people definitely tend to adapt behaviour they observe. Ever had that moment where you just *knew* someone didn't know the mechanic and was just doing what everyone else is doing? That's what I'm talking about. It happens frequently in pug content because people are too shy, too unsure or just too indifferen to actually ask something. So they will just silently adapt something they observe and be done with it. Don't tell me you never observed thatI won't believe you for a second.
And someone wearing a mentor crown is definitely more of a silent example than someone not wearing it.
It's not always about actively given advice, you know?![]()
I did this in... uh, the name of the dungeon escapes me...
Was in a run with rl friends doing it blind.
It's the heavensward one with the vinegaroon type boss who throws the slimes around.
Saw a colored marker come up on me and everyone started running toward me...
This must be a stack marker! I thought to myself.
I never said the PLD is good when he heals himself and like i said i'll stop healing him if he heals himself all the time. But thanks for trying to explain me how things in random partys go and especially that you tell me to go with a fixed party, its very helpfull.Paladins don't prefer to heal themselves. However, they prefer to survive, no matter the reason. It's just another survival skill, not that different from the cooldowns. Except spammable but at the cost of being MP intensive and on global cooldown.
If a paladin uses their heal when their HP is getting quite low, consider it a boon. It just means that you have that bit of opportunity more to finish that cast of Holy or whatever.
Don't want paladins to heal?! Go with a fixed party, or at least with a tank that you know. However, in a random party, it is frequent enough for healers to either be too late with heals for whatever reason (like, them not sticking to the tank when he's pulling multiple groups, because apparently using sprint is too hard, or them not wanting to stop their cast of damaging spell to heal). It is better from the tanks standpoint to heal themselves and give the healers that bit of extra time, than wipe if they won't manage to get "in their game".
Though, yes, some paladins go too far healing themselves before they even reach half life. Then again, there are healers that heavily overheal. I guess those are the same types of players.
I hope i don't have to paint a sarcasm sign for you...
