Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
The ______ SE? That song was a player's origin work, no copyrighted material. This is the kind of stupidity that is going to kill perform.
Meh, a controller is a controller. Someone using a midi piano is going to be the person I actually want to listen too because they actually know how to play lol. It's possible to translate MIDI instrument input into keypresses and just play on the MIDI instrument to trigger the corresponding keypress in FFXIV. So it's literally impossible to determine if they were done "legit", though.
Which just goes to show that the current implementation leaves a lot to be desired. Fortunately there will be a proper Perform HUD in 4.2, so I'm looking forward to that.
