Could use any popular MMORPG to support my examples because they are all adapting the standard WoW has set for MMORPGs. Except FFXIV. The only thing you're convincing me of is this game has a hopeless future, which is unfortunate because Yoshi-P is working his ass off.

Then you're a lost cause if you think this game is hopeless because things aren't handed to you on a silver platter or it's not the exact copy of WoW / RIFT / typical MMO. People are sick of WoW, it's dying they want something different. Standards are fine, but you don't have to carbon copy the whole game.

You're comparing apples to oranges. Kill 1 Boss != clearing a full raid... 6 minutes vs. 2-3 hours.

We are looking at it from different perspectives, and my last post was suppose to illustrate my understanding, and acceptance of that. But apparently you are incapable of seeing and respecting other perspectives outside of your own.

I've said what I wanted to say. I am not going to argue with someone who just wants to argue without looking at different points of view. If I keep pushing it I am just going to get the thread locked and I think there is a lot of valuable feedback here, so I'd rather not.

Some of the successful MMOs over time were successful simply because they've done something different from each other, which is why we ended up with "EQ styled MMOs" and "UO/AO styled MMOs", nowadays it's "WoW styled MMOs" or "Your MMO is dead." Like Rift for example was almost a spitting image of WoW even down to the font settings, it's fun at first, but you learn very quickly you're playing the same game you played in 2004.

People do want something new, yet also not something that acts like it's new to the world of MMOs (i.e XIV's original launch), yet XIV had good concepts to turn it into something different and unique while retaining some of what it's previous FF MMO did, i.e not locked into 1:1 Class/Character.

Ummm I've accepted plenty of other views when they have reason and logic backing them up. Unfortunately you didn't say anything that contained either. All you really said was "this game is going to fail because it doesn't mimic WoW/Rift/Etc to the smallest detail".

You're either ignorant or just incredibly stupid... and it was you who turned a debate on the loot system (again, which we know has flaws) into a "change it nao or ffxiv fails; suckfest".

But go ahead and have this thread locked all-powerful forum troller... because SE already knows that Ifrit could have done better so it's been a moot point since post #1.
