SAM AoE. No Goad received.

My last run: "Why aren't you using Hagakure as much in AoE?" "...Freed up globals don't amount to much when completely TP-starved. ...Tactician, sometime, please?"

As a NIN main and someone currently leveling SAM, that hurts. And speaking of which, I'm 62 and jump into Sirensong. The other DPS is another SAM. The mobs melt and it was an enjoyable run. Except the other SAM didn't Goad me during big pulls. I goaded them, but nothing was thrown my way.
Um?.. You still either Kyuten because no potency reduction is so broken or Kaiten+Tenka Goken. In proper aoe that is. Maybe not in 3 targets but that's time to recover some TP yeah.
Goad is x class now and sometimes I personally just forget to set it back. If the 2nd dps is aoeing as well mobs melt quick enough more often than not tbh.
And normally i'm running selfheals over goad cause DF has a habit to match melees with mages and I don't see even WARs so much TP-starving on large pulls. And selfheals = more greeding without stressing the healer extra ^^.
Just got out of Expert Roulette on my SMN.
Landed in Skalla with a DRK, WHM and SAM.
Tank's a returning player and there appears to be a bonus but I think nothing of it, dungeon isn't hard at all.
Tank did small pulls which I'm fine with since I'm not the greatest SMN and I don't really have the hang of the rotation yet. Midway thru to the 1st boss, Healer started to run ahead while the rest of us were killing a group and they ended up pulling the large manta add (the one that poisons you) so they come running back just to end up dying to the poison and line AoE of the manta before Tank could grab it. Tank ends up dying as well as me and the SAM burn it down but I can already tell it's going to be one of those runs. After the 1st boss, I'm starting to get a better grip on SMN rotation, or at least it felt that way considering I ended up ripping hate off the tank for the remainder of the dungeon (Lucid Dreaming and Diversion now on constant CD).
Then we make it to the Last boss and it's a nightmare. SAM, WHM and DRK all get hit with confuse several times, SAM and WHM constantly getting hit with tail, Tank constantly being clawed, everyone taking damage due to others stacking the AoE over people. Rezzed the SAM 3 times and the WHM once throughout the fight but we clear with no wipes.
Leave the dungeon and not a single commendation ;-;

You wipe a farm party constantly but you're having fun playing your way. Nah you're fine dude.
This community astounds me at times.
Man. I didn't want to give this guy the satisfaction of achieving his objective but I have to blow off some steam. I also didn't want to be posting here again so soon.
So I met my second legendary "Ice Mage" in Tam-Tara yesterday after joining in-progress from Mentor Roulette. The tank was new, the other DPS had d/cd, and the level 30-something BLM... existed. Looks like the healer had left at the start when the Lancer d/c'd on load-in so I said hi and off we went. Right away the BLM just spammed Blizzard II. Even on single targets. And the GLD didn't even know what Flash was. But the sproutling tank was willing to learn when I told him to engage with Shield Lob and Flash. The BLM on the other hand was doing his best to be some sort of Reddit legend by refusing to use anything but Blizzard II. Things were taking ages to die of course and I just didn't have the patience. This wasn't a newbie being a nub, this was a guy with a few level 70 jobs who was trolling us. I tried to vote kick him after he kept it up despite a few attempts to get him to use Fire spells (the most he started doing was using Blizzard I on single targets intsead, wowee). It failed, but he started leading with Fire I and reverting back to Blizzard spam. From there I guessed he was with the tank. I asked them to kick me since I didn't want to put up with this crap but the BLM just started running ahead and grabbing mobs so we were constantly in combat. The poor GLD couldn't keep up and we downed the first boss in a mess of confusion. The LNC that d/c'd at the start came back by that point and I felt bad about ditching them but I just couldn't deal. Said "sorry, I'm going to take the penalty, hope your next healer comes soon" and left. Of course the BLM had rushed ahead to grab a bunch of stuff again but I just wanted out. Get your 5 seconds of fame with a different healer.
I didn't even have a penalty since the LNC had been absent for most of the dungeon up to that point. I forgot to report the guy afterwards and I don't remember his name but if you see an Ice Mage with a sproutling GLD in your dungeon on Aether, just leave. That was the first time I had intentionally left a group without a vote abandon/mass exodus in four years of playing too. Kinda sad my streak is broken but the pain of dealing with that dude was not worth keeping it. The guy's on a mission to be an idiot for internet points or something.

On a side note, don't ever ask to be kicked, either take the penalty or feign an emergency and never come back.
If someone reports this you will get a temp ban for doing so (irrespective of if it's right or wrong).

I didn't want to just leave out of the blue and I'm not fond of lying, even over the internet. I figured since I was a healer and it might be a bit before they got another that the least I could do was get them to peaceably eject me once they found a replacement. But obviously that didn't happen. Neither of them were into communicating- they didn't even return my greeting at the start. But I'll keep in mind that it's reportable. I've never reported anyone for it before but I guess there are souls out there who see it as a "do it my way or I'll troll you" threat?
Ok, I rarely want to rail against a new tank, especially one that has a sprout in Tam-Tara but...when I, as a SMN, have to summon TITAN several times to pull mobs off the healer...just, decency goes out the window. I tried giving some tips to the fledgling tank but they weren't listening. They were popping flash once a fight (When they weren't even near they mobs.) they were just spamming single targets and it was such a bloody mess.
About halfway through the dungeon I just kept Titan out and had him set to steady until he was needed. Luckily I didn't need to rip the boss from him but the adds, my poor titan had to take such a beating for the healer. :< She even started prioritizing Titan's health over the tank's. So that should say something...anyways, that's my vent. Have a good day everyone.
