Thank you to the lovely people who spoke up for male characters! We can, of course, already wear corsets, both as invisible waist items (they're still corsets and we still have to equip them) and as part of various robes which feature laced/boned torso areas, such as the Void Ark caster/healer tops, SMN AF2 (IIRC), my current WHM AF3 robe (the male version is definitely stiffly laced) and many others. So it would make no sense to leave male characters out of this request, and I don't understand why people always go out of their way to feed the imbalance for no reason. Unlike the AF and progression gear, glamour corsets could be completely optional!
Also Likes for the random thighboot suggestion because I'm always here for more stylish thighboots.
Surely there are also a lot of guys and gals that play as the male gender, since S-E themselves believed male characters were more abundant in their census? What justification is there, exactly, for favouring the female gender and giving them seniority on top? Because you or the art team like looking at attractive girls? I don't get it. We all pay the same subscription.
Well, I'd rather they went back and adapted the popular Bustier by stripping off some chest fabric (I like my chest anyway) than made a female-only corset, since one way I potentially get something and the other way I get nothing and end up even farther behind those with female characters in the glamour department. I'm sure they can design up some corsets in the art team while the modellers fix the Bustier without losing much time overall.
If they stopped genderlocking things for silly reasons, female characters would get some nice benefits too.
Yes yet over all female gender seems to be more popular than male. I'm sure it works vise a versa as well just seem to see more females than males in game regardless. Unless their is some server that is well known for it. By all means I understand we all pay subscriptions , I rather have my money go to expansions, housing, rather than past glamour or glamour that can take a lot of time to adjust.Surely there are also a lot of guys and gals that play as the male gender, since S-E themselves believed male characters were more abundant in their census? As for going back why not just make a list of those in particular rather than having them guess. While I have nothing against players that want to wear opposite gender glamour, over all having exclusive things is not a bad thing. Being I also do graphic designing believe me it's a pain and is better just to incorporate that for the future rather than go back and change things. Specially that players complain about cropping, over lapping, and are just net picking. As designers we place pride in our work, however deadlines demand that some things can be skipped and placed as a "come back when I have time project for my own satisfaction." Which usually means not likely.

Sorry to nitpick, but I would agree that exclusivity is not a bad thing, however, this should not be in the form of a certain sex or race getting items while the others do not.
What if SE tossed out a few Elezen-only items, and didn't bother making an equivalent piece for the other races? The uproar would be insane. There isn't a good reason why they can't adapt a new piece of gear for both male and female varieties.
Now there is a good idea....yet most people would then complain that its racist now -.-. and want equal things for their race as well.Sorry to nitpick, but I would agree that exclusivity is not a bad thing, however, this should not be in the form of a certain sex or race getting items while the others do not.

So why even start with the suggestion of Race only items? I disagree all races should have something unique about them in terms of glamour. While yes there are a large base of players that really think about these options for RP or personal style, there are also a large quantity of players that would use it to troll others or just make people uncomfortable. After all there are all ready enough players / trolls that already bother other players with stalking, sexual innuendos, and uncalled for behavior that gives a negative experience playing this game. While some of us can tolerate it better than others, there are players, who even though they are reported, can take months to band an account. Lets not add fuel to the fire.
Their saying race only items was for hypothetical discussion, not saying that's how it should be. It was a question of "What would happen if X?" Not "Can we get X for only Y?". It was to open up discussion regarding equality in the items implemented, not a suggestion.
-.- by adding "as it should be" as a comment takes it out of a hypothetical discussion into a factual one.
I never suggested making items for one particular race while giving nothing to the others. If SE designs a piece of equipment, they should make it fit all races and sexes. So why even start with the suggestion of Race only items? As for the rest of the post, I don't quite follow where you're going with it. What exactly is going to be used to troll the player base? A corseted top can be pretty tame.
Yes, I think things should be fair for all races. That is my opinion, others are welcome to their own.
