Stagger maintenance times?

Maininance is usually done when it least inconvinances users, which is usually over night or in the case of a school vacation times, however its harder for a world wide MMO, so they do it I assume when theres the least people online. In Japan they are at work now, in US they are at work therefore the majority of players that would be online are EU right now and it has always been known that EU players are of teh minoroty on FFXI and FFXIV so this time least inconvinances users.

Sure... I can appreciate that totally, but it does sort of send an uncaring middle finger to those that always get caught up in it

I can't see them changing either but I've just had to spend time adjusting out LS event timetable because of the maintenance and its not the 1st time and probably wont be the last /sigh.

It's early morning for them right now I think, they could easily do some maintenances a few hours later once in a while.

It really does suck especially with what was changes, it wasnt really a game breaker. But we can always hope it changes sometime lol

I'm ok with them doing maintenance whenever it suits them, but I do question why is a 2 hour maintenance needed to fix

maintenance consists of more then minor bug fixes, do you want them to post dusted off servers etc. as well lol

Aye, maintenance can consist of reboots, server OS patching, backups, AND bugfixes. They would be doing maintenance whether or not a bugfix was tied to it, to help alleviate other issues.

I don't know about you, but when the servers are overdue for maintenance, Iv'e seen some wierd unpredictable situations in combat.

I think the maintenance times are fine (for the EU zones), especially since it's during a week and most people are probably going to sleep earlier cause they have school/uni/work tomorrow. Sure, many people don't go to bed till late in the night and sleep at school/uni/work :P

Although if it is early morning for them now, scheduling maintenance times every now and then a few hours later than normal (rather than always 21:00 GMT onwards) would be fine for NA time zones for exactly the same argument...and it would be before the Japanese get home from work to be affected. Would be nice to see some love for us EU timezone players occasionally

Is anyone taking into account that staggered maintenance would mean that people are online playing different versions of the game at the same time? That's not even possible; I doubt they'd ever allow it. They have to take the world down, update it, put the world back up. If it was staggered they'd be down all day.

They mean THIS time maintenance should be at 2pm. NEXT maintenance would be at 4pm. A few weeks later and they have another maintenance? do it at 9am.
