    We will not see this animation. Devs do not even have time to fix hair clipping because of content patch demands.
    Animations have zero server toll. Zero. The server does not provide any relevant information for them. Movement, damage taken, and knock-backs -- all already relayed -- are the only controllers of animations. Animation is done entirely client-side, in the same way that the server does not tell the player how to draw a given chest piece to be viewed from their particular camera angle and distance to the viewed player: the server simply provides an appearance and dye tag, and the client draws it.

    I would like this feature for when we Sprint really. We don't really run that hard in the game under normal movement. Sprinting makes more sense to have this feature.

    it works in gw2 just fine.
    That's cause it's a slight animation at the first step of your movement and not an actual delay in your character's hitbox movement/acceleration.

    You seem to still be missing the point of where I said that this request is not a priority and will be cast off without even a second glance.

    I corrected you on technical aspects of the request. You said that it won't be done because it would overburden the servers. That is 100% wrong. Neither you nor Naoki Yoshida apparently know how servers and MMO games work from the technical point of view. Or rather, Naoki Yoshida probably knows at least to a point, but it sounds a lot better for Square Enix's 'public image' that "Servers don't allow it." than "We won't do it because we make the game the way we want to, not the way that players want us to do, and we don't want it.". Hence he makes excuses that he knows are entirely wrong, and he knows that some players will know they are wrong...but most won't.

    The fact that they won't do it because they don't want to (or don't think it's worth the time and money) is entirely different matter and cannot really be argued for or against. Neither of us here have direct contact with the people responsible for decisions so we don't know their current stance on it. And they themselves don't even know their future stance on it. That's why it's a suggestion, to bring it to their attention so that they may consider whether to do it or not with the current situation.

    Do I think they will do it?! No. But for no reason other than them thinking it's pointless.

    I didn't play 1.0, but WildStar has momentum effects and I love how it feels. FFXIV has always felt rather "floaty" in terms of running around. Supporting OP!

    Bring back the animations (fully cancellable to prioritize gameplay of course, like Devil May Cry's animations) but not the inertia. Inertia wouldn't work with the way this game is, and especially not the server responses non-Japanese folks can be dealing with.

    I loved the feel of it in 1.0 but it's not made for ARR and beyond.
