    (Request) Optional 1.0 Movement Weight

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUUA7jMIoXc ( A good example of the old Movement Weight)

It's been many years and I'd still like to request this be optionally toggled back into game.

It was so much more immersive back then, heck even making it so it only occurred when your weapon is sheathed would be awesome. I know it was removed for the purposes of combat but it's about half a second more of animation to gradually 'stop'.
I don't really quite get why it was removed for this reason as positioning etc wouldn't change much to avoid AOEs if it was combat enabled.

I really do miss this feature, made it seem more polished/immersive than just slapping into your idle animation.

It's not coming back. The reason being is that there is a huge delay in movement if momentum is brought back. Ifrit 1.0 was a total pain because of the delay of movement it caused. Even the development team saw this as something negative. There could be an alteration in how the momentum can be brought back, but I do not believe that the original 1.0 momentum will come back.

It's certainly an option I would use if they implemented it, but they would definitely have to disable it in instances.

I like how it looked back then and I certainly want it back, it feels more realistic!...

Enable it out of combat and disable it while fighting, win-win for everyone and make it an optional setting for those that don't want to make use of the feature!...

I'd definitely like to see this, in some fashion.

Heck, it's not as if physics forbids reactive movement, either. You can appear to leap into motion in combat, where that apparent acceleration at the start really just keeps you in line with the standard movement speed.

Momentum =/= slower starts if the apparent potential speed differs. A sprint taking a moment to start will still cover the same speed as a jog already at its peak.

They can scavenge the FFXV movement concepts if they like -- although those, too, could use some improvement.

to be honest if they added the animations back and it didnt move you just a nice QoL i can get behind this 100000% if the momentum is added back in as a full thing i would still be behind it.

Then add the fraction of time for a human being to react to a situation required to move, then add any possibly lag either from your end or theirs. A snap reaction we have now that can save some skin is now impossible.

"We can have it do this, but then it does this, and only here, and then it is either clicked on or off manually!" Or, save anyone and everyone a headache and just not do it. That's certainly a win-win for the people having to do the work.

There's no reason imitation of realism in movement would need to deny players reactive movement. Just look at Horizon Zero Dawn or any game capable of making a stop-turn (as opposed to something like Assassin's Creed, where every movement gets overextended on redirection). If it works for a game where you live or die by your dodge potential, and rates largely from its feeling of free movement, I get the feeling it's not impossible...

I'll agree that conditional physics would be an annoyance and eye-sore, both. But there's no reason it would have to be conditional in the first place if simply done well.

Yes this please but optional. I miss it so much and would love it back.

Personally, I enjoy being able to dodge AoEs...
