So, if you are credited for the specific time your service was down, figuring $15 for a full month of continual service...you'd be entitled to 10-25 cents. The Amazon analogy is a flawed one.

Congrats??? So since you don't have an issue, no one else should care? To be honest I rarely get disconnected but the last few days/week it has been several times an hour. I am on vacation so maybe it's a bit noticeable and annoying to someone who is actually trying to connect.
It's been virtually unplayable for days for a lot of people. Throwing a week of game time on people's accounts would be a pretty inexpensive show of good will. I don't particularly care if they do or not, but the argument that service uptime is not their responsibility is a joke. Like I said, the ToS says they don't owe us shit, it's just The Right Thing To Do™.
But it's not the servers. I've had a few problems the last few days, but nothing that warrents a full week of compensation. If SE gave everyone a full week of credit, that would be a bit much. Have some suffered outright for a week? Yes. But most have only had mild or intermittant troubles. And this would all be goodwill by SE as the troubles are not their fault. It's been virtually unplayable for days for a lot of people. Why do I have to hear about your service? And why does it hold more weight than mines? My service has been pretty great, little to no lag or congestion. I've had no issues paying for the upgraded services in my area. I will also be honest and say I didn't notice or care about lag because I had the best in my area. But the last week or so I can't stop DCing. When folks complained, I ignored. I guess since I am in the other now it suddenly now bother me. How about you all recognize SE could do better? But it's not the servers. I've had a few problems the last few days, but nothing that warrents a full week of compensation. It's not on SE's end, that's why we aren't complaining. It's one of the in between ISPs nodes that's being attacked.
You're not listening. It's not SE's fault. And I mentioned my service because if SE did give people seven days, they would have to give *everyone* seven days, including all the players like me that certainly have not suffered seven days of downtime. So again, you are asking SE to throw money at people for something that is not their fault, and to throw a full seven days at every player even when many haven't lost anywhere near that, if any.Why do I have to hear about your service? What Square Enix needs to do is make an official acknowledgment. We know the news section constantly reads "DDoS attacks here, DDoS attacks there." but we really need to hear from a Dev with some reinforcement. Otherwise people will continue to blame Square.

Seeing as they are the people at SE who directly deal with NTT when NTT's service is impacting the game, that is official enough for me.
While that is enough for some... As you can plainly see, that does not seem to be enough for many others in this thread and on the forums.Lots of posts by the SE NOC here:
