Lets speak about Mentor's.

I find it interesting how you talk about how easy it is to become a mentor while also talking about how undesirable you apparently find it to level a DPS and Healer job to 60 in the same post, when every single "bad" mentor somehow managed to do it.

The mentor system isn't about being an absolute master of every aspect of the game, it's about having enough experience and willingness to help new players find their footing in the game. I'm not condoning rage quitters, but if you're going to try to criticize the ones that try to stick it out but perhaps aren't as skilled or knowledgeable about certain Primal EX fights or raids, you may want to at least get a Healer and a DPS job to 60 so you don't come across as a hypocrite. (Again, seeing as how all those bad, rage quitting mentors managed to do it...)

That pretty much make sense. A mentor should be well rounded on how all roles work and shows better understanding. Sorry But I agree with Seig345 if you can't have a minim of 1 type of each role (tank / Healer / DPS ) you can't really be considered a DoW / DoM Mentor. If you don't even understand how the roles work how can you judge someone? It's like speaking on what you perceive and think people can do a better job without even knowing how the role works. There is one simple rule that people should follow if your not playing that role to a minimum 60 , really should be 70, you can speak. IF your below 60 you should really stay quiet. You really don't understand that role and your input is viewed as lol. Now a person who has 70 well geared on that role and gives proper logical points has more credit then some sprout/flower/ or even Vet who does not even have the job leveled. Anyone can judge a bad mentor I would only take their side if they at a minimum have that job leveled and their argument is logical enough to make sense.

So a player is not qualified to see if someone plays bad just because he didn't level the classes, very interesting. A tank can see if a healer or dps is bad very easy btw. Not to mention that you don't have to level different roles to see if someone fails doing mechanics or if they have bad behavior.

But its cool if you want to defend mentors that way. Good luck defending them with that reason when i or several others confirm what the OP wrote.

You vote kick, and black list to prevent the system from pairing you with them. I am not against reporting poor mentors that give people who actually take the mentoring program seriously a bad name. All I'm saying is what most people consider to be a competent player and what most would consider experienced vs a player who thinks they know how to play.

Hence the tip I gave people do get their status revoked if their are enough sequential complains and accounts have even been banned. The only problem with your approach is that your not giving actual violations and gives more the impression your just criticizing the way they play. Not knowing a role, not performing mechanics, is not in any shape or form a violation of terms of use which is what a GM cares about. You can complain 10k+ all you want without exact information that directly violates the terms your feed back is more of a lower priority to them. Some companies actually pay incentives for finding violations of terms.

The Mentor system encompasses all 3 roles. If you are a tank only mentor, how are you going to mentor tanks in any 4 man dungeons? You can't. The mentor roulette isnt just raiding and ex primals, it's every duty available in the game.

My point is that a mentor who pops up in, say, Ifrit EX, and isnt 100% familiar with it because it's been awhile, but are willing to help the sprouts to learn and stick with it, they aren't a bad mentor.

My point is they are holding mentors to an unreasonable standard. They are also saying it's too easy to become a mentor, while also asking SE to lower the bar so they dont have to level a healer or dps. Doesnt quite add up.
