Across four raids I think I've seen two people die to the falling towers, one of whom had a disconnect symbol over their heads during its fall.

I wouldn't mind control tower's hitbox better matching their appearance, or the bleed from the cross-arena dashes being weaker but longer, but there's very little that seems to be difficult about the fight.

...I see the fewest deaths on this fight compared to almost any of the others. Why nerf this of all things? It's no Ozma. Its mechanics are dead obvious, and allow plenty of time to react.

Haven't seen a problem with this boss yet, even late in the week with the more casual crowd getting clear but not always first try. I think it's somewhat in line with the difficulty of bosses like Ozma and Scylla when they were new although on my datacenter we don't seem to be having as much trouble as we did in past raids. So, I like it, seems about right. Not too hard or too easy, just fun. Maybe that's just me getting lucky groups.

Just think of it this way: you only have to suffer through it 10x to get all your 330 gear to 340!

I wouldn't say this boss is difficult. It just punishes heavily for every mistake. The only hard part about it is that every failed mechanic is essentially a one hit kill, which makes it more annoying than difficult because it over punishes for small mistakes. Nearly any failed mechanic against this boss will lead to a complete wipe that forces everyone to start over.

I think you accidentally clicked on the wrong thread. This thread is about the second boss in Rabanastre, not Bahamut Ultimate /s

The only part where a failed mechanic could potentially lead to a wipe, is if one alliance has a lot of deaths right before submission tower, causing one of the sand spheres to explode.
Outside of that, a group can have at least 20-30 deaths over the course of the fight, and still be able to kill it.

Even a sand sphere detonating isn't a wipe, if everyone has enough hp and shielding up. The worst I see is when the rock adds don't die in time, if the majority of the DPS are dead when they're out.

I really hate the final boss here. I'm still not 100% certain on avoiding the penalty for scatter, and I don't know if there's a way to avoid death should you get the third penalty and waltz straight into the arena edge.

Sand spheres can only really cause a wipe if more than one denotate. If just one goes off, the fight is still very much recoverable, provided that there are healers or a RDM/SMN alive to get everyone up. For the rock adds, a good trick would be to use caster LB on them. Takes them out pretty fast. If there are, for some odd reason, no casters in any of the alliances, a Ranged LB should work as well, though it’s not as potent.

For Scatter, if the boss is telling the truth (angel face), you need to run around in a circle until the debuff falls off—simply continuing with your rotation/attack/combo isn’t enough; you have to actually be moving. If the boss is lying (demon face), stand completely still. Auto-attacks will still count against you. As for the wall, if you run into it and get zombified, there is nothing to save you from the insta-death that occurs afterwards. The healers just have to raise you afterwards. Best way to avoid it is to do the mechanics correctly, and avoid the stacks. (Of course, if people let too many Shades explode by not killing them fast enough, the entire alliance gets turned into chickens, which is mildly hilarious. Thankfully, the Wall-of-Death isn’t present when that happens; that would kind of suck.)

No. No. And No. Something being targeted at casuals needs to be accessible. It doesnt have to be easy. Casual means not having a ton of time, it doesnt mean unskilled(there are people who suck that play 6 hours a day, and people who are awesome that play 4 hours a week). So that crowd needs things that are quick to get access to(and ideally that dont take too long to do in one sitting). Anyone who clears the 4.0 MSQ can do a simple quest in Kugane. Therefore this is accessible. Content of different difficulty levels can be designed for the casual crowd, and they can decide which ones they want to participate in and which they can skip. There will never be anything you need that comes from here. A gear set of verity and creation pieces will be fine for you to do the MSQ elements that come out with 4.2. And the new tomes from that patch will get you to patch 4.4, and so on. And you being dead wont automatically stop your group from completing anything in here. Sure, enough dead people will lead to a wipe but thats true in any content, and being a 24 man gives this a lot more room for someone else to save the day. So again, No.

PS. You yourself said this boss has basically 3 moves to worry about(it also has adds that need to die). None take more then a couple words to explain. People just have to pay attention. No nerfs!
