It's more like 2x active players at most compared to the lowest population servers but in overall characters Balmung actually has the lowest because of no characters being able to be created since before HW.

If the world did reopen, how long do you think it would stay open, possibly a few minutes until everyone gets a character transfer or makes an alt, thus placing it straight back to this point in time with a closure.

And really you can imagine if Square set a select world to be an official role-play world, it would be even worse than what it is now because every single role-player would demand to have access.

The only solution you have control over is to move to a less populated world and start a role-play group (community), if you don't want to or think that's not a viable option, you will have to put up with the current situation, as its only going to happen again and again unless the world could hold an infinite amount of players.

Lowest? I doubt that. You're not the only locked server and you had 1/4th a population larger than Greg and Greg is doing just fine. A little quiet right now but thats not unusual with all the people raid logging. You're still the largest server in the game. There is very little chance of you guys getting unlocked for at least another 6 months to a year... and thats being hopeful.

People who think the server will open back up though... They are not thinking things through at all.

Absolutely nothing is stopping anyone on Balmung from leaving their comfort zones and seeking out new people to interact with. The server is still bustling with a considerable amount of players who come online on a consistently frequent basis. The server isn't dying and any stagnation is easily mitigated. Be proactive. If you're not willing to do that then you only really have yourself to blame.
