BLM can have utility as long as it's selfish. Think of stuff like Brotherhood's proc, but it charges Foul. Or a self-only raise that puts you to full with no weakness and with AF3/Enochian up, but it kills you again if you drop Enochian. That's the kind of stuff BLM can have.

Rezzes aren't neccessary as a BLM, but selfish buffs could be interesting.

RDM is the easiest job to play, so would not be fair if they'd be dealing more damage with little effort. I think they're just fine and tuning a little potency buff to BLM is also a good idea since with all that mechanics moving around. Its much harder to pull something off than RDM or the new SMN

I won't argue it's simplicity again; it has nuances that people don't pay attention to because "lulz rdm is easy", and it becomes painfully obvious who understands those nuances vs those who don't--but I remember 2.0 BLM, and I remember how it was even easier than current RDM, and I remember it being competitive DPS against SMN.

BLM like SMN is a caster DPS, they both bring the great tools from their cross-roles.
However one is blatantly superior than the other when it comes to personal DPS and raid DPS.

It makes little sense to me that a class(in some cases two) that brings nothing but its own personal DPS should be outshone by some other class that bringers greater personal and raid dps, it's pretty high up there and I was wondering how the community would propose a change.

I'd like to add, if you think this is an attack on your class then please post somewhere else because this isn't the place for you.

I'm really not seeing this, all the hunts and raids I've been on, its a blm at the top of the dps and by quite a large margin too, at least 1-2k ahead of the next person sometimes.

Anecdotal evidence takes a back seat to hard data, though hard data needs to take context into account.

And currently, the fastest party on fflogs has two pure DPS, SAM and SMN.

I see nothing but MCH/NIN/BRD/DRG as the fastest setup on fflogs.

It is a well known fact that this group beats out the raw power groups. It might change in the future but it hasn't yet.

BLM actually have lots of selfish utility. AM, BtL and Manaward are them. But they don't translate into direct damage. So having something else would actually be very interesting. Extending the idea of selfishness like MNK's Brotherhood procs.

I hope we can get some new egi glam or demi summons at some point. Bahamut was a STEP in the right direction, but not even close enough to making me feel like a true SMN.

Honestly I think the dps line for casters should be;
BLM - No utility, pure dps
RDM - Minor utility
SMN - Most utility of caster thanks to 4.0 egi love

Saying that I can see SE nerfing DoTs from 50 to 45, but really BLM and RDM need some buffing. It would be nice to see new egi glamour and changes to D-Bahamut, even though I have my rotation down solid now.
