Why else? To have more room to decorate. EVERYONE I know who got a small house, enjoyed it and was very happy for a few months.. and then nope. They wanted a larger house. If you're an RPer it's especially important to have a house.

I'm almost against the timer after relinquish because I definitely have just given houses away to people who couldn't make it beyond the queue. I made it, I got a house and I relinquished it at no fee to my friend for them to have a house as well. So that timer will hurt people who would get a house that way, but ultimately it would get rid of flippers.. possibly. If the timer were random and not easily just 'be here at this time for the house'.
