I see. I wonder why so many AU are being vocal about in the EU Promo thread that was made 1.5 year ago. I realised I got the timing wrong. Feels like it much longer than last spring
AU didn't get this year's, unless they order from UK.
Well, the ShopTo event applies for all EU countries, it was even used on the GER and FR lodestones, even though the origin country for the products is the UK.
But the thread was talking about the butler/maid gear anyways, which was from the older event.
♥ Baby, tell me, what's your motive? ♥
Well as a NA player, I am not. It was a limited time promotion with EXCLUSIVE items. A lot of people would have not bought into the promotion (from all regions) if they were going to throw it in the Mogstation later on. I do not care about the snowflake ideology, i care that when I am told something is exclusive, it remains exclusive.
If you are going to screw me SE, at least lube me up first.
If they do, I simply ask they do not make it dye-able. You get your maid/butler set and we get our exclusive sets.

Players in NA were not screwed over in any way. It was the easiest of all of the promotions to participate in, even easier than Japan's, and you've had exclusivity over people in a lot of countries for ages now.
The people who were 'screwed over' were people in the EU region (not all of whom live anywhere even remotely close to Europe). Some got local campaigns of varying quality. Some, however, got told to wait for local campaigns then, after the others had all ended, they were told their local campaigns had been cancelled. With no alternative. Those are the people who were screwed over by this campaign and for their sake I hope that the items are coming to Mog Station soon. Imagine how miserable it feels to be them, seeing everyone running around in clothes they desperately want and could never get for themselves simply because they made the mistake of trusting the official S-E campaign information. I'm not one of those people but they most certainly exist and their access to the gear is more important than the self-satisfaction I feel for having made a special trip three times to buy a magazine I didn't want.
None of the above applies to the Monkey King promotion, which is still ongoing and hopefully expanding (I'm furious they staggered it and made EU wait longest again but that's just what S-E thinks of this region). But they have specifically already said that the maid/butler suits are coming to Mog Station in future, so y'all need to accept that fact and move on with your lives.
EU is a separate matter with NA because the lack of common sense with the marketing team. I do not care if it comes on the Mogstation for them. I care about NA and I keep hearing this "They said its going to be on the Mogstation.", but I have yet to see any sources for this interview. I will go find the source myself at the moment.Players in NA were not screwed over in any way. From the official forums:
What annoys me is how shallow this information is. Is it talking about PAL regions or all regions? There is nothing saying ALL REGIONS, which I wish they would clarify."Hello
There's been a lot of talk regarding the North American and Japanese promotional campaigns. We are working to setup campaigns in PAL regions with the new in-game items. They will also be available for purchase on the Mog Station at a later date. We will share more information as soon as it becomes available.
Please note that the North American and Japanese item codes won’t work on EU accounts. "

Unfortunately EU isn't a separate matter, in that there are no region-exclusive items in Mog Station (and hopefully, there never will be, because region locking sucks). EU, NA and JP all share servers so if someone from EU is playing on a NA/JP server (or just a EU server, for those screwed over by the bad promotion) they'll be forced to see everyone else enjoying items they cannot access on a regular basis.
The fact that the campaign codes were region locked is part of why it was so dumb, since it meant anyone playing outside of the optimal countries had a very stressful time.
(I do not have details and could not give them here even if I had them due to the rules, but there are rumours that a Mog Station version of the maid/butler stuff is ready for imminent release into the game. It would appear that it's very likely to be happening within the next couple of months, finally putting the screwed over EU players out of their misery at last.)
Edit: Aha, it's on the Lodestone: https://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...m/ee73931c0f7/
If that isn't a Mog Station version, I'll eat my hat.
Edit 2: The name is slightly different so those with the original maid/butler suits can retain some vestigal smugness at how superior they are, perhaps?

My heart goes out to EU, because they had it the worst with extremely limited items that did not even reach some countries, but NA is a different matter...There was zero screw ups and the only ones who are asking for this are the ones who missed the event or did not participate. Does it suck? Yeah, but that's life, opportunities pass you by sometimes.Unfortunately EU isn't a separate matter, in that there are no region-exclusive items in Mog Station (and hopefully, there never will be, because region locking sucks). But if you think about it, isn't the potential damage from asking S-E to start region locking the Mog Station (which is what you want, right?) far more dangerous than seeing other people dressed up as maids? Imagine if they release some exclusive mount recolour for Europe as an apology for the campaign mistakes - or more likely, exclusive Japan-only Mog Station items such as tie-ins with Japanese baseball teams or convenience stores (a very realistic possibility) which cannot be licensed elsewhere. I would hate to see genuinely Japan-only, Europe-only or NA-only items on my server. It's a slippery slope to walk down.
