what was your ping numbers when you run "tracert -h 50 traceip.ffxiv.com" at the command prompt?

doing this tracert eliminates the "But on my screen" if your ping is good and your PC is not a total POS you should be able to avoid the zones most of the time, if you REALLY have issues with ping and PC sucks then you might have to rely on watching Ifrit's motions and NOT WAITING FOR CRACKS. If you see him crouch down start running back immediately this guarantees you will not be in eruptions.

EDIT: Your initial screenshot looks like your issue is/was a lag spike, maybe you need a new router and a phone call to your ISP if this is commonplace. I recently got a decent router (one that costed more then 20 bucks and was 5+years old) this made a big improvement on overall stability of my network.

If i am reading this correctly 24 hops taking around 267 ms. Not exactly a server i would choose to play tf2 on or anything but it is how it is.

MMO != FPS

My tracert was averaging around 250ms... so you're in the good.


That dude from Africa had 600~ms... lol

Also the best player in my LS as far as reaction avoiding dmg and being a TOP DD has a 270 avg tracert, he is VERY good at knowing what ability is about to pop by reading ifrits signs and and keeping an internal counter going so he is ready to wait.

He has done over 30dps as lancer many times taking under 3k total dmg.

Like Griss did? he didn't post the whole thing and no one complained... though I forgot it was 18 hops lol top 4 hops was 41-16ms 5-9 120-160ms 10-18 230-250ms ( 1 hop was 356ms).
