Excuse me but you should probably listen to them. https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...r_mnk/dkhgs73/
Also wondering, is this the new thread for DRG now?
Excuse me but you should probably listen to them. https://www.reddit.com/r/ffxiv/comme...r_mnk/dkhgs73/This is because it is possible to stack >2000 crit mostly at the expense of SS (ignore any analysis on Reddit if it claims the threshold is much higher than that; a lot of those did not account for how secondaries boost each other slightly, and to their credit the most legit posts I've seen even outright say "but these are not weights").
Also wondering, is this the new thread for DRG now?

Nothing in the reddit thread actually says why.

I'm guessing they've come to their conclusions in a vacuum. That will never do.
Try a simple model out for yourself. Just playing with it for a few minutes--save yourself a copy and mess with cells B3:F3--should effectively demonstrate that with the current estimated formulas, you can stack DH (or DET) to a point that lowers its weight and CH to a point that raises its weight such that in tandem, CH>DH. You can also see that Battle Litany alone (remove its factor from "crit rate" column) does not raise CH weight by much.
That said, there is no point in stunt-melding if you're not going to have access to all the gear. DH>DET>CH is what most people should be doing till 4.2, unless 4.1 gear changes something I haven't conceived of. For Lost Allagan-only builds, it seems best to go DH>DET all the way (SS>CH for Lost Allagan-only but that doesn't come up). I still haven't looked at it with tiering effects, though.
It is a new thread focused on 4.x, and I will attempt to cover as many topics of interest to DRGs in the OP as my own time permits. It has gained some pages because people like to talk about 4.x stuff and "well Sunny here's where you're wrong" in a place where it is topical (I hope). Also wondering, is this the new thread for DRG now?
However, I have always been of the opinion that it is really up to the people who post, where they post. Surely if I keeled over tomorrow somehow, and thus I never improved my guide again, soon enough someone would get the clue and start on something better (I hope).
٩( ʘᆺʘ )۶ Qiqirns never skip egg day!
Dervy theorycrafting in a nutshell. He sure does love to pop in and say "No, that's wrong and you're wrong and this is all wrong because you're dumb." without actually telling us what he and his crack team have figured out.
Not that I don't believe them, of course, but there's no need to be a dick about it.
yo whats the new bis for the goon bois?

so the new rotation is basically just HT > CT combo > FT combo rinse and repeat? oGCDs notwithstanding.
Yes indeed. Now it's always alternating in-between (HT > CT > FT > HT > repeat CT > repeat FT). Back in HW it used to be HT > CT > FT x2 > repeat.
so is it better to have LOTD activate right after the second jump now
I'm pretty sure that was ARR rotation. Since HW, the rotation was HT > CT > P > FT > Repeat
Just like now, withouth P in between for a second dot.
Going to main Dragoon starting from next week. Actually a bit surprised nobody seems to be talking on how the changes affect the rotation.
