DC'd members in parties

I'd be more interested in the system letting ME "kick out" myself (not from party) if I get disconnected. As it is, the system takes a pointless amount of time to log me out, so that I can go back in.

Real disconnections would be a lot less painful for everyone if logging into an account would automatically "ping" the computer from which it was connected, and if it doesn't respond (as would happen after a disconnection), then log it out immediately logging in the player.

Sometimes I have to wait two, three minutes to get back on, and I can imagine the frustration of others if that happens twice or thrice.


Some of these "convenient" disconnections are possibly such extended log-out processes, too. I couldn't log in for well over five minutes once, before I just quit trying. The servers for FFXIV suck, and them apparently being perpetually attacked doesn't help.

Agreed. It's really annoying when I get DC'd in the middle of the dungeon, try to log back in, and get the "your character is still logged in please wait a few minutes" message. I think 5 minutes before having the server boot the player from the party (or letting the party kick the player) is pretty fair.

My D/C's are very strange. There will be no lag before hand, I'll get a 90k, and the game instantly boots my character out. My team doesn't even get to see me get the dc marker. I just go poof mid combo.
