well.. all you need to do is to find out the name of the dude trading houses and let the GM deal with him.. it's against ToS to sell houses.... and seriously, just move to other server... Balmung seems so toxic including people paying 400m~900m for the house.

It's not just Balmung, there's been reports on almost every server of this sort of activity. With some like Midgardsomr and Ragnarok reporting entire FC's buying up as many as twenty plots to resell them after the fact. There was even a thread yesterday showing the transaction for a house on one of the Japanese servers that ended up being sold for 60,000 real yen. It's thinking that this kind of scumbag behavior is exclusive to the higher population servers that caused this problem to balloon in the first place. People on both Gilgamesh and Balmung complained about this the last time the wards were expanded and were promptly laughed off the forums because it was 'their' issue, and now there isn't a server I'm aware of where this practice isn't prevalent. Nor many servers that didn't sell out entirely within the first thirty minutes of the patch, if not much sooner.

While reporting this scumbag material is very much something everyone should do, it's like slapping a flimsy bandaid over a cut artery. Much the same way as telling people to jump servers because there's this perception on these forums that certain ones are more toxic than others. At the end of the day, it's the scarcity problem that caused all of this and until it's solved this problem won't go away no matter where you go.

you are right. however,,, as wards increases and catches up to the server population... servers with less population might catch a break. but first of all.. SE needs to put restriction on personal housing purchase...to per account per server (not per server per character) this way people need to pay SE additional monthly sub to earn the right to buy more houses.. so SE has the money to expand the server for housing. this makes sense .. because the houses is still in the server after you log out =p)

people hoard houses because they know there's gonna be shortage of it and take advantage of it. if SE gonna NOT have enough houses.. they might as well add in property tax base on housing demand. LOL
