In short, SE has his hands tied (like Nanamo, monetarists control every decision) and only a few options.

    1. to add wards over wards (80 new wards should be enough)
    2. to free houses already bought (multiple FC/private houses in the same account) and add wards
    3. to raise prices at Everest height (let's say, 500m/ 1B for a large plot) and add a few ward (just in case...)
    4. something else + add wards.

I did to. I did was sure i could manage things for some friends, FC, in my work, and failed to do it.
I am able to say "ok, i failed... " In fact... it is not so hard. Just have to get critic spirit, and take time to watch with the others eyes. Hard in begnining, but it become a good exercise.

AND there is some mistakes i did again after, YES. For those, i didnt even try to apologize. i did all i could do to repair it. Even if it meaned sleeping less for a week.

In fact, most of my mistake, i didnt say "i am sorry" ... I just did what i had to do to make the situation better. And if i thought it was not enough, (or couldnt do anything) i came to clearly apologize.
    Act are better than speaking.

When Yoshida came in end of September 2013, to apologize about ARR release, it was ok, i said it was a good dev director, i said he wants the best for his game.
All along ARR i did defend Yoshida when some things were shit, like the... 500M large house prices! "He got his reason" "just a mistake, it's ok, the game is young" And i didnt do more than just laugh when he admitted the insane prices was to avoid too fast buy because servers were not totally ready, then legacy servers goes down (250/500M for a L house => 100M). Ok, he didnt want to admit housing was not ready and didnt want to delay it in fact no problem.
He spoke about the PvP... wolf's den, shitty, then first frontline... only dead pvp... I said he needed time to find the good way. The game is young, and SE experience in PvP is nearly 0 (FFXI didnt have pvp, i mean a real thing around PvP)
HW release? Ok many matter, but first expansion, he will learn.

I even accept all his apologize about the latency... THIS latency that made all fights harder than it should...

I am ok with apologize. . . WHEN THERE IS ANYTHING AFTER
I could Kill anyone now, say "i am sorry, i didnt think shooting his head with this bowling ball could kill him" it doesnt mean anything if i do it 2 years after with anything else.
I could do many mistake, saying "sorry, i failed", and doing the same shit after.

Yes he resurected the game, there is good things in it. But Yoshida prove me that the matter is not devs that answers, but devs that acts. I would gladly prefer Yoshida to shut his mouth, or even answer with sarcasm, if he learn from mistakes, if he do things to go really better, i wouldnt care this lack of communication.

The matter is, Yoshida speaks, a lot, he is even able to apologize, but... acts are not there.

Saying "i am sorry" doesnt mean you are sorry...
Saying "i read what you said, i will think about it" doesnt mean you will focus on the topic...
For now, yoshida said those more than he did in consequence

Well... I'd like to think his apology is sincere. But we must all remember that he is only one person and that he has to think about so many things that we, as players, probably haven't considered.

Like with the housing relocation system. There's so much going on in the background to make that happen. Really, it seems rushed and that more time was probably needed to roll it out gently rather than launch Shirogane at the same time AND relocation. That was just asking for problems. Still, they have a timeline to adhere to, and probably there are many future things that depend on this system working...

In short, we just don't know.

I think that the reason why the super-secret-housing-system is going to stay super secret is because if some things are released, people will blow it all up out of proportion. See also: Diadem 2.0 weapon drops.

The matter is... it is not a feature he speaks from just small amount of time...
Around of release of HW he said he was thinking to add a full housing area (finally we got it = shirogane)
He said it coudl be coerthas if people ask it enough.
He also speak of the work about a relocation system.

Then, he said that the new area would pop after he tried the relocation system, to avoid any matter with this when the new area comes out...

    ...

    ...

    ...

AND finally, we get both together... After 2 years...

But, he apologizes, he is a brave man

At least they've acknowledged that there's an issue, but until we know the details we don't know if their changes will fix it.

The changes I think need to happen:
A cap of 1 fc house and 1-2 personal houses per account(not counting those who've already bought more houses than that since even they shouldn't be punished for SE not addressing this issue for years).

An additional room or two to apartments and fc rooms to make them a more appealing alternative. Right now they're just boring square rooms that are better served as storage attics.

MORE WARDS. Not 2 wards, or 4 wards, but dozens of wards. they don't necessarily need to be added all at once but need to be added on a consistent basis with a relatively short time in between to make up for the fact that we have so few wards compared to the number of players. The long term goal must be that everyone who wants a house should be able to get one as long as they have the gil.

One thing to note though is that there are servers floating around that have tons of open houses. Goblin has been reported to still have over 100 free, and it's likely some servers in JP have some similar situations.

This is just my observation, but Lamia (mid-pop server) had a few open homes pop up regularly until a few weeks ago. My assumption is Shirogane hype got more players interested in housing, and resubbed players in preparation for 4.2 meant fewer were being released. So, with all this interest drummed up for a relatively mellow part of the game, it suddenly wasn't enough.

In fact, it was only because of Shirogane housing hype that I began to actively save my Gil in hopes of getting a small house, and my own dissapointment with the mad dash, server breaks, and lack of relocations was much more pointed as a result. Housing was never exactly niche, but the hype certainly made it seem like every player should striving for a house, and we did! Oops.

I think now going through each patch/hotfix and combing through servers to add wards as needed would be a decent solution. Unless they plan to add another system in place for instanced homes or overhaul apartments, the ward system is just a crummy scenario.

Bigger servers like Balmung could with with 10 to 30 more wards (50 per area, if they want it to be fair) while very low-pop servers like Goblin may not need any new ones at all.

Thing is, it's something that shouldn't have happened in the first place. They knew these issues would happen, there's no way they couldn't have known. Unless they spent the last six months drunk, and switching between bashing their heads against the walls and burying them in the sand. This is like if a mechanic doesn't mention something that needs to be fixed during a checkup, and then after the accident goes "Oh, I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that the wheels would fly off, but don't worry, I'll give you another one" XD

Fixing issues that they can foresee is comendable. Apologizing for doing nothing when you knew ahead of time it would be trouble, is not.

I don't get this thread. What exactly are we thanking him for?

The amount of blind pandering to the devs here is somewhat worrying...

Don't get me wrong, a response within 24 hours is a good start, and it's likely yesterday was a fun time with some interesting meetings. While I find his decisions questionable at times I don't doubt that Yoshi-P is being genuine.

That said, thank the devs when they fix the problems at hand.

You should not be thanking Yoshi-P and the development team, they messed up, and they'll do so again if their only solution to this issue is more wards.

Isn't that what a lot of the players asked for though? More wards? If that is indeed their solution then the problem is still going to be there; the additional wards are going to be consumed fast and players are still gonna fuss...
