Yeah, the fraction of tomes you get for running the levelling roulette doesn't really motivate me to do the roulette. Neither does the clusters I can get.

I spend so much time trying to get into savage content, I get burnt out, and have no energy to spend on the levelling content.

Another thing I'll say is that the majority of tanks/healers I know, including myself, will run content only with pre-mades. It's much more fun to run content when I know I can play to my best abilities, without having to worry about if I have a healer that doesn't know how to keep up/dps, or if I have dps who actually aoe, know their openers/rotations, and use their utility.

How about having a third high level tomestone only attainable either equal to the current cap tome or granting special gear but have theses tomes only obtainable from AiN?

ICYMI DPS has been AiN for raid roulette on my data center since the second it went live.
As others have pointed out, do something else. There's no shortage of activities while you're in the queue.

There are already too many currencies and tokens in the game. It's bloated pretty badly. We want fewer, not more.

There are no valuable items in this game so there are few ways to give incentive. They could give Crysta or a bag that has a chance to generate cash shop items but that's about it. They kinda painted themselves into a corner with their style of non-progression.

    That's a good suggestion.

    *cyber high five*

My goodness, one poster out of all the ones in a six page thread actually has the community in mind. Granted, I know how many tanks and healers get poorly treated in DF, so I take nothing away from those who require incentives to queue, but I give massive props to those who queue simply because they know their role is needed and have fun doing it.

Helping the community that makes playing this game possible, and keeping my skills from going rusty are the only incentives I need to queue. I decided to level a tank for this very purpose since I know we're short on them right now. Even with that, I always get something valuable from a dungeon run. It could be crafting mats, minions, glamours, torn pages for ochestrion scrolls, or just a positive run that makes me feel good. Either way, dungeons are fruitful for me because I do so many other things in this game than grinding tomes and mowing through fresh content. When players do this, I can easily see why there is no incentive to queue.

Actually, that's not such a bad idea. Sure you should never have to play another job to level and gear up another one, but having the option to do it could be interesting.
Imagine if, instead of bonus gils from adventurer in need status, you'd receive some kind of deliverable items that will grant you Xp. Something you could exchange at your grand company HQ, for example.

After all, you can technically already level up crafters and gatherers without mostly playing them, simply by earning gils and buying items for levequest or deliveries.

Besides, the person who would play another job is not the DPS that can't bear long queue times anymore, it's the tank that wonder why he should even bother going back to roulettes now that he's max level, thus indirectly helping the aforementioned DPS.

Or you could make a system to ensure that you'd pretty much always need to gain experience. Like a transmigration system, where you reset your level for a permanent boost to some of your stats (That could even be shared among all your jobs).

The queues will just get longer - Another tank here hanging up the PUG scene in roulettes. I'll just stick to FC now.

I'm frankly tired of RDMs ripping agro, other people pulling mobs that aren't even touched and go out of their way to make tank life difficult when I'm already pulling enough.

It was such a great idea to up the DPS potency of every class with no accommodation to enmity. Today in Skalla I provoked a mob and threw my shield at it three times before it would get off the RDM.
The incentive you are looking for is us tanks looking for patience from the DPS. When I play my DPS, I NEVER do that to another tank because I know what that feels like, and I won't be part of "that" crowd.

It's great that you do so well against so many mobs, DPS. Yet, you think about nothing else but yourselves.
