If you don't like the game right now, wait until 2.0 to pay for it. I'm pretty sure most (if not everyone) has had their share
of playtime that it's equivalent to a 60-70 ($) game.

I like the game, I've been actually slow to level up my main character and been playing for some months now. Not one single day has passed that I have to ask myself "what do I do now?". So, I'll gladly pay the 12.95 until I no longer can or until I get bored.

That's it folks. You like the game, pay for it. You don't like it, don't pay. If you're having a difficult time deciding that - it means you still want to play, and to some degree you like the game (so pay, there's really not a "I like it 40%, so I'm only gonna pay 40% of the fee"). The more time SE takes to charge, the harder it will be.

no its better off with out you. holding back 2.0 progress to make pointless content that wont be here when the finished game is here. if you would come out of your moms basement sometime, you might might see, that no matter how much you pay SE, the small amount of players now will not fund this game, it will get it funds regardless if i pay or not so you pointing out all this support SE is BS. and yes you can lose fans just as fast as you gain them, and because of people attacking people on these forums on matters that don't effect their gameplay, this game is losing allot more than its gaining good job you guys do eorzia a great justice.

You and I are in the same boat, it appears. XIV is coming along well, but there still isn't enough content to justify the fees at the rate they're proposing at the moment. It's still, even up to this point, only half of what XI was at the start.

Ok now I know you are a 10yr old looking for attention, even I knew about paragraphs when I was 10, what do they teach kids these days.

But back on topic yes they will not completly fund the game, but they will lower the losses for now, incase you didnt know, FFXI made no profit until its 5th year, this is common among MMOs because they are constantly updated, and resources need to be poured into them over thier life, they have lost alot of money and even the small playerbase now will atleast lower the losses to keep the game running if 1k people are playing at lets say $10/month 10k/month they are making which is 120k/year while to SE its not much its something, something is better than the nothing they are getting now.

Yes they could shut the servers down and put everything into 2.0 but it wouldnt go much faster because they will have complete teams on 2.0, and the rest on the 7th umbral era content.

SE knows 2.0 is FFXIV's last chance so they are putting as much into it as possible which is another reason why they wanna charge.

You dont seem to know much about this so I will leave you with this, dont let the door hit you on the way out.

Naw, I'd say at least 50%, if they don't delete the entire thread outright, which is probably where it deserves to be. I'm gonna enjoy it 'til they do though

Now for some actual On-topic stuff... AFAIK there's no "official" proposed rate yet, just what was published originally before the game went free-to-play. Personally I do think the game's worth paying for at a substantially discounted rate, especially when you consider how much cleaner the forum will be afterwards.
