    1 pathetic dungeon you have to literally be drooling to not get through in under 15 minutes
    Worthless beast tribes that make no impact on the world or your character
    A 24 man with good concepts wasted entirely on being clearable by animals freshly escaped from the zoo
    An EX primal that serves to be nothing more than catchup content for people stuck on Animal farm L to the MAO.
    A filler sidequest, again no character advancement
    1 fight in an entire expansion tuned for Maximum item level players.
    The same content schedule the game has had for years, and the same rigid, dull advancement path.

    Definitely isn't a game made for anyone who likes video games. Who is this game for? There's nothing for casual players to do and there's nothing for hardcore players to do.

    Don't forget this is set to the backdrop of a raid "tier" with 2 trash mobs, and 2 bosses. How long are you going to continue being embarrassed by your competition SE? Even the trashy kMMOs are putting out more

    If you do propose something, please don't frame it as just "THEY SHOULD DO X". Planning anything out takes time and resources, let alone actually coding, integrating, and bug-testing. Just throwing out ideas is something any armchair CEO can do; if these guys really have some sort of ingenious way to solve this "issue", we need details.

    FFXI in every expansion had new endgame content while at the same time allowed its older content to remain relevent

    SE themselves told us in each odd number patch we would be getting exciting new content but here we are looking at the same stuff as usual but its actually less then what was in 2.0 and even 3.0 series patches.

    The concern I have is in 5.0 they are going to cut content even more and people are going to defend them for it.

    I will start saying that i played FFXI back in the day.

    Secondly, you can't really compare XIV to XI for a simple reason: The playerbase was diferent back then, the same players that enjoyed XI won't invest the time needed to play like it was before because it's too time demanding/consuming. And in the end, today, because i still follow it, i still play it it time to time only because of the story, the end game it's just as repetitive as in every other game. So no, you are not going to win that argument with me.

    You cannot add in every odd patch 'exciting new content' because it's juts... It can't be done.

    Finally, the patch is not even out yet. I got the feeling that the EX trial of Shinry it's not going to be "More of the same."

    The reason 1.0 failed was because they released an unfinished, laggy, mess of game with next to no content. Not because they tried to make FFXI-2.

    They did not try to emulate it, very very far from it. They did not copy WoW either in the original 1.0. It was just a horrible idea and was released about 3yrs too early on a garbage engine.


    FFXIV 1.0 was nothing like FFXI at all, and I played FFXI for over 20k hours and 1.0 from alpha to shutdown so I can easily say that with 100% accuracy. It was one of the biggest complaints from the ppl playing 1.0 was it was not FFXI and it was a complete unfinished mess.

    But then again a mmo designed exactly like FFXI would fail horribly in this day in age. The non-negating horizontal content was a major positive of FFXI though and why it held most of its playerbase across 8yrs, also why you could play the game 60hrs a week and not get bored out of your mind after a month.

    But on topic. 4.1 well seems to be a lack of content... combined with 4.0 which most ppl are exhausting thier content. 80% of my guild atm logs in does daily and logs out unless it is a raid night. It is not good sign. SE needs to pumping out more serious content and less fluff... they appear to be doing the opposite.

    I know they count monthly subs and crap instead of concurrent users... but that does not help ppl in game, does not help the guilds which stuggle to get ppl on mid/late patch. It does not help with the extreme Boredom after you are done leveling/getting entree level endgame. The we want people to be able to play other games excuse is absurdity... it is them stating they cannot release enough content. They should be trying to fix the problem not embracing it as the way to make a game.

    In the documentary it's stated that they were developing 1.0 based on what worked for FFXI, that's why I wrote that, koji himself said it was a huge mistake and that they were out of touch with the time, doesn't mean you are wrong on what you say 1.0 was, but I was referring on the developing thought behind
