Please allow Mog Station-and-Campaign-Only Gear in the Armoire

Can you please make it so players can put Mog Station and Campaign/Special IRL Event gear into the Armoire?
These items aren't like story-gained gear like the House Fortemps Kite Shield, the Scion Rogue Bandana, the #55 gear, etc, where you can drop them and buy them from the Calamity Salvagers later.
It would be nice to be able to put them away somewhere that won't take up our inventory and retainer's inventory (and/or spending more monthly for retainer space) or dropping them for inventory space, especially considering a lot of these items are limited 1-per character and can't be bought a second time.

They definitely need to add the cash shop exclusive and fanfest gear to the armoire. I'd also add that they should let us store forum contest prizes too, although those are probably fairly rare so they might not be high priority. I also don't know why they won't at least let us store msq reward glamours such as the scion adventurer's set - the things that are lvl 1 without stats and are specifically meant as glamour, of course.

They should just add a tab specifically for MogStation gear. If they're using even achievements to keep track of which seasonal events they've done, they could do the same for bought items. Tho, that's a bit of a crude way of handling it. Still better than it taking up all your inventory and retainer space.

    YES. PLEASE.

I really wish they would expand the Armoire in general. I've always thought it silly that I can store my i45 AF1 gear in there, but cannot store the i90 AF2 gear, the i200 AF3 gear, or the dyeable AF gears (I don't even think the i290 AF4 sets from SB goes in there, now that I'm thinking about it). Even if they are re-purchasable from the Calamity Salvager, I would much rather want to be able to store all AF gear sets in the Armoire just so I don't have to go out and repurchase them--I can just drop them in there for safekeeping until I decide to reuse them for a glamour (and, as someone who changes glamours on certain jobs frequently, this would be a huge convenience).

Promotional gear and Mogstation gear should also be allowed in the Armoire by default. These sets are unobtainable any other way (aside from repurchasing Mogstation gear, but again, huge money dump there; and promo gear sets like the Maid/Bulter and Eastern Journey Attire cannot be reobtained once discarded), so it makes no sense to me why they can't be placed in the Armoire like past seasonal event items. This includes Fanfest items and the wedding items. I don't want to throw away my wedding dress, but I also do not like that it has to take up retainer space because I cannot store it in the Armoire.

This and relics too. If you're not going to give us more retainer space for free, as much as we need it now, then at least let us put things in the Armoire that we want to keep but don't want to take up unnecessary space. (If you do/did multiple relics like I did you might understand)

Agreed for Mog Station gear, the rest of the AF gear, promotional campaign gear like the maid/butler sets or eastern journey, there's even a few holdover event items that never got added... It should all be storable.

They could make a big improvement by adding additional categories as well. Like have it store all prior tiers of tomestone gear.

It wouldn't work for relics, since they have customized stats. Nothing that's customized can be put in the armoire without losing all customization, since the armoire only has a single bit for each item, just yes you have it or no you don't. You can put a dyable item in the armoire by removing the dye, but a finished relic will always include those stats. I'm not sure if they'd have a way to strip them off so it could be stored.

It was just an overall dumb move to put any restrictions in the first place. "It's storage, but you can only store -certain- items." I mean, what? Why make things more complicated than it needs to be? It's annoying to players. It's likely annoying for the devs to have to remember to tag items correctly. Whose ridiculous idea was it anyway?

That it stores only specified items is fundamental to the way in which it stores them. It isn't storing item data like your inventory or retainers can. It's just a long series of bits that are each assigned to a particular item. If the bit is on, then you have that item. If the bit is off, then you don't.

That fact is the only thing it's storing. (This is why it can't remember things like what dye you'd applied to an item, or what your spiritbond percentage was, and so on. It doesn't know anything about your item except whether you have one or not.) In order to store additional items, each one of those items needs to be assigned a position in that series of bits.

Of course, that being said, the fact that it only stores specific items doesn't prevent SE from specifically adding nearly every piece of gear in the game if they wanted to. It would just take a longer string of bits than it currently has.

The Eorzea database lists 2468 arms, 575 tools, 6671 armour, and 2224 accessories as all that are currently in the game. At a bit for each of them, one and a half killobytes could hold it all for now, though that would keep increasing with each patch. (Well, at least it would hold everything that can be stored with just a single yes/no. Customized relics might be the only ones it can't store. Sorry Aster.) The problem is that right now, the armoire's bit string isn't 1.5kb long. It's only got a few bits, and can only hold the items that those bits have been assigned to.

Yet SE keeps assigning a few more with each event that comes along. So clearly, SE can expand on the armoire's storage bitmap. They've just so far limited it to very minor incremental additions rather than a really big addition that would allow it to take care of most of our storage problems. They're probably assigning from the remaining stretch of unassigned bits the armoire already has and are trying to put off expanding the total size of the bitmap. Eventually they'll have to re-size the bitmap, though, and I hope that when they do, they expand it far enough to be much more useful rather than just far enough to cover the next couple years of seasonal events.
