    I was separating them on the confines of main stat. There have been past gear using various types not normally associated with them, like back in ARR days with healers using armorcraft. Tracking the type of armor is just as pointless as names; the only thing that really matters is what that means for stats across the classes and what values they'd end up with. Dragoon armor tends to have more physical defense on it than striking as well as being bulkier in looks 'cause half-plate. Could be remedied with a hidden class modifier. If we'd like to debate looks and generally expected gear types, ninjas and others classified as rogues generally don leather as it provides mobility and increased protection for hand-to-hand combat. However, this isn't DnD, where such stuff really matters.

    The number of type of DPS in the composition doesn't really matter. Other than upkeep for mechanics, you can feasibly run 3 of any of the types and make it work. Or 2. Or 1. Or 0. You have enough mitigation spread throughout tanks, healers and DPS to make up discrepancies. It's mainly when it comes to speedrun kills for parsing do you really run into X is better than Y.

    My comment on naming sets was more of a dismissal of separating than actually opening a debate over the actual naming. However, this has turned into a tangent for what was meant to be an armor-type reduction suggestion to help cut down on "worthless" gear dropping.
