About tanking, well as you see the dps while tanking is fairly easy.
But you do have other things to Watch for as tank.
And you maybe have played warrior for awile and it comes naturaly that you know that class more then blm.
DPS in other hand we have to focus the our skills, roations, adjusting and alot of otimizing while Dodge mechnics on the bosses.
"yes i still see alot of people don't do this"
My tips sounds very dull but its simpel, practis, practis and even more practis.
Read some roations guides im pretty sure alot of blm players have tips and tricks what they do.
Noone is very good DPS with there class at begining, keep practise makes you perfect.
I start with dummie to learn openers and then try the timed dummies challange to see if able to beat it, then i try out them in dungeons / trails.
Just keep playing eventully you be master blm like many who playing it!
My bad like I said haven't really been keeping up with this game and said I wouldn't be surprised but lowkey evasiveness. Any way there is guides all over this forum for every dps class which you can ask questions and what not.
Can a mod please close this thread? It's weird.
1, Nothing weird about having trouble with dps. why do you think 90% of the dps you find in pugs struggle? it's hard.
2, if a mod closed every thread which WAS weird, there'd be like maybe 4 open threads in the whole general discussion section.
I mean I feel this is a personal thing for me I find tanking and healing harder because it's more situational. Dps is just memorization, okay aoe I hit these buttons, single target these buttons in this order. Other than that it's just paying attention to mechanics. Although I admit I've been having issues with blm myself... it's the only job gauge I just don't understand.
How does this help me during all phases in a raid? How does this help me get better while practicing my opener over and over again? How does this help me in all content?
Were numbers invented or discovered? How many Moogles does it take to make Kuponut rum? Answer: zero... They will give you a quest to make it.
I was only pointing out that you said 3K damage is bad. How would we know this unless running content with a parser. I bet most 1st world groups use a parser. They need some way to gauge the fights so they can improve individually and as a group... Numbers don't lie and having the ability to see your numbers and watch the numbers get better as you practice is not only a confidence boost but will greatly increase your chances of completing the raid (gotta love those dps checks).

Then again, I really don't get where you get that idea from... Getting 3.4k as a WAR without food or potion is hard. Seeing what a hard time you're having optimizing BLM, I really have doubts on your DPS as a WAR. Of course, it's not the same set of skills that you need, but you seem to lack the skills to be a good damage dealer, whether you are a DPS or a tank. In both cases, you need to learn the fight, learn a proprer rotation, learn how to play in a raid context... believe me... Tanking Omega Savage is as hard as DPSing Omega Savage... To me, tbh, all jobs are easy compared to healers, but that's because I suck as a healer, and never tried to improve.
Eventually, I do approve Tagihi (because I have her/his message right below my eyes), Miste, and so on. Keep playing and you'll get better...
But, then again... Stop whining like that. I'm trying hard to be the best WAR/PLD I can, and believe me, I spend my fair time on dummies, trying different rotations, and I spend my fair time in raids, trying those, seeing what's best, reading online how to be better... And there are many tanks out there that try just as hard, or harder, as me. They deserve respect in the same way a good DPS does. Don't disrespect the work some people did for months because you're unhappy about your own DPS as a BLM.
