You just said multiple rotation guides one way or another you will find out 3k dps is bad lmao considering around 5k is the average. Also really wish people stop acting like dps is the easiest role to play decently<<<<(key word right there). Just look up a high level bard player, pushing more buttons in 1 dungeon compared to 2-3 than any other role.

When stormblood had been release yes around 5k was average, haven't been playing much though wouldn't be surprised if people are breaking 7-8k with better gear.

Honestly it is pointless to get upset about which jobs some people find easier or harder than others to play.

Everyone is different and it is just all opinions and not worth getting pissed about.

I find DRG hard...well I don't know if hard is the word more like I can't play it well because the rotation feels awkward to me makes me feel ADHD, but my boyfriend finds it easy and he likes it. /shrug

I prefer MNK and I feel like it is easier to play than DRG, but my boyfriend says he feels MNK is harder to play than DRG for him. So it's whatever.

70 BLM is my favourite DPS in Stormblood, and the changes it got made it incredibly easy and forgiving to do high DPS. It's impossible to drop Enochian thanks to Transpose, and as long as you get 5 Fire IVs in each Fire cycle and never waste a Foul, you're already doing way more DPS than a tank. That's completely ignoring all off-gcds, Thunder IV and Blizzard IV, which aren't hard to work in for even more DPS.

My warrior easily outdpses my black mage in ex trials becuase black mage has to juggle a short timer with a fairly complex rotation, while white mage can do about half as much damage by spamming ONE button

#1. BLM rotation isn't complex (Plenty of guides online)
#2. Unlike other DPS class, BLM really relies on positioning to do well. The more you have to move, the more your dps suffers. (Aetherial Manipulation, Between the Lines are your friend)
#3. Current EX-trials are punishing for BLMs that are "new" to the fight as a BLM because of #2
#4. Susano's mechanics (the stun into a levinbolt and the rock-jail if you're chosen for it) will drop anyone's number down. Even Lakshmi's Divine Doubt and the fact that you can't go ham on the adds.

definitely not the easy job it's made out to be, dps should be commended on their dedication and months of practice they put in to get that 3k+ dps

It's easy to be an average DPS and no, it doesn't take months of practice to be good. Just play it more and often.

Also, sometimes it's better to save Swiftcast and/or Triplecast when there's an incoming mechanic that will require you to move/dodge. Since you mentioned EX trials, mechanics like Susano's left/right side lightning are one such example.

Firstly....3k DPS doesn't require 'months of dedication'. It's borderline bad / unacceptable. You have not given anything specific for us to go on. How do you expect help? You want us to piece together a broken record while blindfolded?

I've been struggling to do more for over a week with any of my 2 caster lvl70 dps classes. Meanwhile my tanks do nearly 3k fairly easily. But I'm not inclined to give more information with a response that rude.

~3.5k DPS was a rough good enough number in the first months and worked well enough for Ex fights. Omega Savage raised the bar and the jobs that clear them now barely scratch the 5k mark.
And mind you, that is the top percentage of the playerbase.

So the statement of people casually doing 7-8k DPS is false.
