DPS frustration

I say this with all seriousness. Get. Good. No really, do what every dps does and practice. Practice. Practice. You won't get good at anything unless you try and learn and improve over time. I'm not a particularly confident healer but not because they're more punishing or difficult than being a blm or drg in a movement-heavy fight, but because I don't play them enough to get comfortable and memorize my buttons and abilities. That will only come with time and effort as with literally any skill.

If you want to be a good blm, do what all the other good blms do: practice.

You have to keep pressing buttons, for example:
Cast fire IV > waiting for the gcd to be ready > cast fire IV ( DPS loss)
Cast fire IV > relax a sec/ observe what is going on etc > press fire IV before GCD is ready > cast fire IV split second when it is ready... may be the first thing you are doing wrong.

then when astral is around 3 sec you need cast fire I or transpose if the fight is making you move, if you need transpose, it is a DPS loss, and you need to swiftcast/triple cast to help recover quicker. This is why RDM is more mobile then blm, because of the duel insta cast so you have freedom to move around as the ocd is resetting and not casting.

So you need to manage the astral timer, try cast thunder/foul while in ice and release thunderclouds as they are about to fall off if thunder is already on the monster, do this and your blm should be blowing war dps out of the water.

Also it helps to cast on dummies and such so the rotation is programed and not thinking, you take too long to think, and that is a dps loss.

I think "3k+ dps" should be easy to ilevel 310+

This is why the job is called "DPS". Whole skill set is designed for doing dps while tanks and healers have their own mechanics mitigate and heal damage, that you do not need care about. If DPS would have rotation like healer imagine how boring it would be use one or two dots and then spam filler rest of the time? I would quit the game if it would be like that.

Well I guess I'll stick to tank and healer classes till square enix balances the skill required so that DPS isnt several times harder to master.

Seems like you have never played summoner. Summoner need more buttons than any other dps class.

Yep.
Before SB,All DPS need around average 25 buttons to maximize dps but SMN obviously need 35 buttons(pet actions included).
Right now it reduces to average 20 buttons for all DPS and SMN still need over at least 30 buttons....

I'm sorry but how can you honetly sit here and tell the whole community tanking and healing is easy and that dps should be rebalanced when you are pulling 2.1k and 1.7k damage with warrior? it's ok to ask for help but you've dedicated your entire threat on diminish the work of tanks and healers which are by no mean easier than dps but like not even close, every class has enough to manage that requires anyone to sharp your skills and focus your attention in order to pull the most out of your class.

This threat seems like a troll threat and I'm sorry but OP is just talking out of his back, you clearly don't know what you are talking about. Don't make a treat talking about number when is public to anyone to take a look and proof read what you are spitting, is so easy for you to do more dps with your warrior that you are currently doing less dps than healer. instead of asking SE to rebalance you should try get better with the other one's maybe is so easy because you ared doing it horribly wrong.

OP, mind posting videos of you on a striking dummy with WAR and BLM so people can help you?

I mean, if you're parsing (which is assumed since you say you're doing the same DPS as WAR and BLM), how about some logs so people can help using those?

What you have on FFLogs doesn't show well, since they're old...and extremely low percentiles.

DPS is easier to me than Tanking or Healing, so I guess different strokes for different folks and all..

That aside, DPS rotations are more complicated I think because its really the only thing they have to focus on. Its not like they are responsible to keeping agro, or healing people. If the rotations w ere too easy, the more experienced DPS players would be bored.

But basically, just do like other people said, practice, look up rotation guides and just keep at it. You'll get the hang of it eventually.
