Correct me if I am wrong but I seem to remember reading awhile back that the initial tracts in Shirogane were going to be limited to FC Estates. Individual purchases would come later. Is this correct and if so is it still valid?

Some house layouts are too complex to recreate in a reasonable time. I know for my house, it would take over 10 hours even if I knew at all times where to place each item.
It should transfer everything if you have the same size. Square definitely dropped the ball on this system. Disappointing to be honest.
I was going to transfer the house, but now I just can't justify it, so I'll wait until Square (hopefully) allows furnishings to transfer in the future.

No. Its not still valid. FCs and Personal homes open at the same time.
You're only allowed to own one house now? Was that always the case or has it changed?Risk reduction. At the end of the day I'll either have a Shirogane house or my old house in the Goblet, but I'll still have one of a limited number of housing plots. Waiting for the timed demolition exposes me to the risk that I relinquish my old plot (where it will then 100% be snatched up by someone) and be unable to buy a Shirogane house in time, leaving me with none of a limited resource (houses) and a bulk of a nonlimited resource (gil).

If it's an FC, then moving this way is optimal, as this way any of the workshop progress stays, while if you get rid of your house to get the money back, you lose all of that progress.
You always could only own 1 house per character. Exception is if you own a FC, then you can have a FC and a personal house.
It's not limited to your account though, so you can own a house per character so you can technically own 16 houses total per server.
if you can only have one house, not getting your original purchase price (or close) back isn't very good. Let's face it - the loss is half the reason why no-one wants to give up property at all. relinquish it and get your gil back is going to make the market far more fluid. It might work better it you were upgrading (from a small/med to a large). I do see why FCs would do it to keep their progress - but a lot of them are mansions, and that's a big chunk of gil down the gurgler.
Okay so the wording on the moving bit has me confused. What does it exactly mean by (Cost of Relocation) = (Destination Plot Price) – (30% of Old Plot Price). Does that mean I need to pay more or I pay less for getting the house. Because I have enough gil to get a medium house but I'm concerned I might not have enough if I'm reading the wording wrong.
