Yeah maybe I was fanboying a little bit, but I seriously do love everything about the job beside the lack of Othard.

I mean, good for you for playing what you want, but on the other hand you did switch from hands down the most wanted dps in groups and statics to one of the least wanted and most populated dps so...

That is also a thing to consider, true. Ninjas have a lot of utility, but they wouldn't be ninjas without tricks. I didn't delete my gear and sold my soulstone or anything, so it is still there to use if i had to, I just won't main it anymore as red mage is a lot more fun. I don't do savage raids all that much and when I do it will be with my FC, who will take me along anyway cause they like me.

The most selfish melee to date. Offers nothing for the party except damage. And unless you play it well, it barely offers that. They require all the buffs from other party members to be the "stud' you are claiming. i out dps them often on my bard. My pf's dont include them.

And I outheal healers. And raise them when they die. So what's your point? Red Mage and Samurai are the new jobs so a whole bunch of people try them out fo curiosity. So of course there will be lots of bad ones. Even I mess up my rotation from time to time. It doesn't mean a good samurai can't hit like a truck and compensate for the lack of utility.

If he's out-healing the healer, then the healer is a bad is why.

Even excluding the fact Red Mage and Samurai were highly requested jobs (and are still a bit overpowered), I do think part of their popularity comes down to how well they work under the new combat systems, being that they were designed from the ground up with the new gauges and role skills in mind.

There is far less of the awkwardness that some jobs have from their skills being grandfathered into a gauge or holes from old strategies being cut from lost skills.

I really should level Red Mage since it has that utility I loved about 2.x SMN, but I like short queues.

Why would you do this?

Because it might be the only way to avoid a wipe. I do whatever I can to help. Isn't that what every decent person does in a group?
