Really funny show. A lot of inside and japones (aka otaku) jokes.

-Good drama, good comedy. Can't wait for season 2.

Point of note:

The son has the Legacy tattoo. So that narrows the server they are "on". So that appears to be a real character. The FC the character is in appears to have the other characters that appear in the staged segments.

It is obviously a J-drama, as J-dramas have a certain aesthetic that is different from anime or other drama's and it's not to everyone's taste. Basically I've seen this kind of "show the problem, character sees an analogy elsewhere and applies it to solve the problem" in other J-drama's and it always feels a bit forced. By the 6th episode it gets past the formulaic feeling. Because it is a Japanese production it is much easier to give this a pass than if it was an American/Canadian production which would get slammed for pacing.

I was thinking something looked very wrong with the game footage and then I remembered I'm watching it on a TV that has the framerate enhancement and that's why it looks off.

In the credits you can read what seem to be the in-game character names for all the characters that were used. I believe the real characters played themselves in the in-game footage (obvs not in terms of audio etc). They're on Gungnir. http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...1360760184678/

Finding their FC lodestone gave it SO MUCH MORE sense. I thought "KIRIN!" was just a battle cry and not a "go ahead Kirin do your thing!" type of thing. RIP
